just got my samples of rozerem today from my doctor. haven't been sleeping well for 6 months +. i read another post on "rozerem", and i'm already disappointed and wondering if i'm going to sleep, even with the rozerem. i've never taken anything but otc sleep aids (simply sleep, sominex, etc.), which did NOTHING. i was really hoping this might do the trick. guess we all aren't the same so i'll take my rozerem and hope for the best.

dr. did say that if this didn't work he would put me on something else. just don't want to get "hooked" to sleeping pills.

rozerem didn't really work for me...my doctor even said about 6 months after he prescribed it to me that he seems to be learnign that it doesn't work very well.....but you could be different.....what i found with rozerem is that i felt paranoid and it made my thoughts race all night....but dont let what others say psych you out....that seems to be the problem with us non sleepers anyway--we hear one thing and let it stay in our head that whole night and dont sleep focusing on it.....just use what works for you

My doctor told me that Rozerem was just melatonin which can be bought over the counter....he said they put something else in it so that it could be sold by prescription, which makes it sound like it will work better, and thus make more money...it did nothing for me....which is exactly what melatonin did for me.... hope it works for you...melatonin does work for some people...

There is something that you can get at the Dollar Store for about $3.00 that will work just as well or better. The box will say Diphenhydrazine or something like that.

Rozerem, if it works for you, will only put you to sleep but will not keep you asleep all night.

This medication made me have the opposite effects. I was up all night on it for 3 nights, I could not sleep at all from it. Tylenol PM also makes me lay awake all night. I take klonapin and its the only medication that helps me to sleep all night, but its very addicting, but I have to take it or I won't sleep. the medication you have been prescribed is not supposed to be addicting like other sleep meds are. How about you give it a try and see if it helps you. You will never know until you give it a try, so please let us know how it works for you.

If you have sleep apnea and it is the cause of your chronic insomnia.. medications to induce and promote sleep aggravate the sleep apnea and make the insomnia worse as well. If you can not treat the insomnia short term on medications you need to see a sleep specialist and get a sleep study done. Do not continue to throw medications at it.. because you are treating a symptom.. not the source of your problem.

Sincerely,
MG
