Just like the title states... on the left side of my lower abdomen there is something sticking out. Nothing is sticking out on the other side. I am getting pain from where it is. It is kind of oval shape and I can push it back in... Any ideas?

Also if it makes any difference, I am young.

It sounds like it could be a hernia, but you better show your parents since all we can do is give our opinion.

Is hernia a serious health issue...?

Not life threatening if taken care of in time; I still urge you to show your parents to have it looked at by a doctor.

Could be Diverticulitis.

There is usually a lump associated,on left lower quadrant.

I think i may have this also.

The best test is a CT Scan.

youve made me paranoid. i have a lump on the left side. the only problem is i had my appendix removed and a twisted bowel on the right hand side so that could be the discrepancy. i will try and find out more though.
