Haven't had any dental procedures other than cleanings since the RSD and was recently told I need a root canal.
Should I take any special precautions or is it nothing to worry about??
Thanks for the input

Hi Jeanne,

I've had a root canal with RSD and did fine. Obviously, everyone's different, but that was my experience. I had no pain with it so hopefully that will be the case for you too. Good luck.

Sharon :)

Sharon, I am so glad it was not a problem for you. I have worked in the dental/orthodontic field for twenty years. I just want you to understand that with a root canal you are working with the nerve in the tooth which is connected to the nerve in your jaw. So I would say it is possible that it could effect the RSD. I would call your doc for advice.

I was thinking along the same lines with the nerve and all....talked to my PM and he said there shouldn't be a problem with it.
Of course we all know the debate goes on as to spread of RSD with surgeries...mine spread all by itself without encouragement so it makes me a bit nervous. I had blood drawn once that sent an electric shock through my entire arm:eek:
Don't want an infection....want to save the tooth....so I guess I'll tell the dentist lots of novacaine and pray for the best :)
Thanks
Jeanne
