Well, it has been four weeks since my surgery. I decided that I was going outside. I got out of my wheel chair, positioned the crutches and got to the door. Opened the door and started out. The screen door closed so fast that it pushed me and I started to fall to the side. I had no choice but to put my leg down so that I would not break anything else. GEEZZ that hurt. My ankle and the area around my fibula is swelling again.
It just goes to show that no matter how much experience you have with crutches, you can still fall.

EEEEEK!!! Has it been 4 weeks already? I have been watching constantly for you to post! Did I miss a previous post? It has been 6 weeks for me. 2 weeks to go with this NWB cast!! Then I can start wearing the lovely boot that weighs 4 times as much! The wheelchair is becoming old news. With the number of weeks that I have had to rent it....you would think it could have been purchased by now!! (I have been reading but not posting too much). I just feel awful that I have missed your surgery date! We can recuperate together! How are you doing other than falling over with the crutches.....don't break the other foot like I did last year! I have missed seeing you around. How is your Mom doing? And how are those renovations going on your house? Take care of yourself.....I will look forward to hearing more from you! We all seem to do the falling over thing...hopefully you are ok??? Sophie:angel:

POOLSIDE!!!! Sounds great. The drinks sound better.
Yes it has been 4 weeks. I can't remember how many weeks the Dr. said I will be NWB. After my second cast, the dr gave me the boot so that I could wash my foot and try to move it. (As long as I promised I would not walk on it). This thing is heavy. Sometimes my lower back goes into a spasm because of it.
My mom is doing OK. She was in the hospital a few weeks ago. She had pneumonia. As long as she is sitting in her chair with the oxygen, she does OK. When she gets up, she becomes short of breath and her oxygen level goes down. Yesterday, she tried to give me $20.00 to get her a pack of cigs. LOL I cannot believe how much weight she has lost. She only weighs 115lbs. She looks so thin.
The house is the same. I cannot do much work on it right now. I did however, purchase a condo. When I bought it, there was a renter. He said that he would like to stay as long as he could. Since I can not do anything yet with either property, he is staying there. That's OK. He is paying the mortgage and condo dues. I bought it for a real good price. I think in the future, i will make that my batch pad, (or the retirement property) LOL
