tiresome

I wish they had a board to rant about the care we receive from some docs.
I have mastioditis (second occurance this year). My primary doc (who calls me back and is GOOD) had the afternoon off and the doc who was suppose to cover for her received my peak and trough results in the AM and then the message froom home health stating PICC Line not doing blood retrival. He decided that since he has never seen me he wouldn't make a decision on my case. Not that he bothered to call my home health nurse and tell her. Finally she hears nothing so she pages my doc to get answers. My doc calls right back, her replacement can't be bothered to reply 7 hours later. I am suppose to reduce my gentamiacin down from every 8 to every 12 hours and have my blood drawn for kidney function and electrolytes.
I have medicare with medicaid as my second insurance so the ENT in town won't see me, the refered doc (in Peoria) won't answer if he will take my case after seeing my ct scans. (Been waiting 2 days)
All through out my illness I have been told it is very serious and should not be taken lightly, to take my iv meds on time and be careful to follow procedures correctly. Yet there are doctors who won't treat me because of my insurance is not good enough. My primary doc says surgery is in order (mastoidectomy) and yet I have to keep looking for an ENT who will take me. I am about to give up after all there isn't a yellow pages for docs who take medicare. I paid into this insurance all those years to find out no one wants to take it? What is going on with this country (Good old USA) that a person with a serious life threatening illness can't find a specialist doctor to care for her? Looks like I will have to go to Chicago, Iowa City or Mays Clinic. Hours away from family and friends to have major surgery.
