I was talking to a personal trainer about protein following workouts and he mentioned that I should look for 1/2 my body weight in carbohydrates following a MORNING workout. Is this true? I drink Myoplex shakes which carry 20g Carb. What else should I be eating? I don't have time to sit down and make something, so maybe some fruit? -Chris

Are you lifting in the morning or doing cardio? SOME carbs after cardio is ok, best from low GI sources like oatmeal, imho. After lifting, your Myoplex and a handful of Sweet Tarts maybe. Fruit isn't the best choice because it will go to the liver first. You want dextrose or maltodextrose after lifting to go straight to the muscles.
