First, I'm 38 yo and had a full physical in Jan of 2007 and all went well.

My issue is over the past year or so, it seems like my stream of urine is getting slower and slower. I feel like I can't push it to come out any faster. Before bed, I pee a few times with little coming out each time, but don't have the satisfied feeling that I'm finished. When I wake up, I know I need to go, but it comes out slowly.

Also having the same issue when dumping. When I need to push, I feel like I have no push there. At times, it feels like my head will explode from pushing.
But other times, I'm perfectly fine.

Any advice? Thanks

 Questions, questions, always questions.Lol.. Do you drink enough fluids/water? Are you getting enough fiber in your diet? Do you exercise, or walk? I just turned 49 last week. The urine problems you're having, I've had off and on myself for the last 4 years. Not as bad as you have described yours to be though. I drink lots of water, and that helps! The urine flow is fairly steady, but on the weak side. Especially if I wait to long to go! If that's the case, it's a stop and go, and my stream is very weak. I've had a clean bill of health from the doctor. When I asked him about the cause of my problems, he explained that, naturally as men get older the prostate enlarges some. He said that, alergy and other meds. can cause the prostate to temporarily enlarge as well. I do have allergies, and I often take over the counter meds for it. Checking my prostate, I was told that it was fine, know enlargement that could be felt. Every year my PSA test comes back normal too. I think my problem, other than the meds. is I have what I've heard to be a nervous bladder, if that makes any since.Lol.. In other words, when I get in large crowds, or have to go some where that I'll have to sit for an hour or more, I self-conseously get the urge to use the restroom. And of course, once standing at the urinal, my urine stream is a weak, stop and start ones. I make it a point not to drink anything two hrs. before I go to a movie, or some place that I'm going to have to sit for a while. I'm told it takes the bladder up to 4 hours to empty, so I try not to drink anything after 6:00 o'clock/before bed. Long story short, my problem has just about gone! The doctor explained that there are several reason for the prostate to enlarge, but for me to continue drinking lots of fluid, exercising/walking, limiting my fluid intake after 6:00 and I should see a continued improvement.

Sounds a bit like a urinary tract infection. These usually can get cleared up by some anti-biotics. Best see the doc about it to ease mind.
