My doctor has agreed to do all of the above at once:) The Dr. will remove my stiches in 2 wks and the pin will be removed in 3 wks. I go back to work in 3 wks.

He said that there may be A LOT of pain and swelling, (each patient is different) but if I follow his instructions I will be ok. He is more concerned about my bunion than the hammer toes because he has to break my big toe.

He gave me my prescriptions (Percocet and Keflex) to fill in advance so I can go straight home from the hospital. He also gave me a huge surgical boot that looks like a weapon. I tried it on and it is very ackward.

Anyway, my surgery is on 6.21.07.

LOL! Yes I am ok. I am looking forward the to surgery because I am very uncomfortable. I welcome the relief! I do not know which is worse bad feet or a tooth ache.

As for my recovery, I have a job where can sit all day with my feet elevated and it takes me about 20 minutes to get to work by car. So my doctor said 3 weeks should be fine.

Is your daughter taking pain meds? How ofter do you ice her feet? Did the Dr. give your daughter antibiodics as a precautionary measure.

hi..My daughter ,at the moment, takes meds only at night before sleep for the last few days as that is when the pain is worse. i give her anti-inflam too twice a day. the first week post op,she had meds as she asked for pain but was actually as dr prescribed.. every 4 hrs.as i said the pain is sooo much less as she keeps her feet elevated..even at sleep time.her school is great with keeping her occupied and her mind off it all.the swelling can be painful so dont over do it..sp with the driving!! My daughter had a little swelling as she was starting to crawl around so we put a stop to it.The other difference is that she has a cast on both feet..so is a little more restricted in movement. The more u cam move it the worse it will be..pain and swelling. She was on a strong anti biotic a mnth before op for ear infection so it was needed....she has normal hard cast so no ice .i have read on this site that the ice casts work well..even too sleep with.Hope all goes well and will think of u..i read her these posts all the time!!xxxxxxx
