I have been on Prozac (60 mg/day) and Wellbutrin XL (300mg/day) for almost 9 years. Can someone tell me...how do you know when you don't need it anymore??? I started taking low dose Prozac when I started perimenopause. Then I had breast cancer and can't take any form of hormones so they just treat the depression symptoms and let the others go. But I took it on myself a few weeks ago to decrease the Prozac back to 40mg and really seem to feel better. I had begun to want to lay in bed ALL the time (whether I was sleeping or not) and not really have any interest in anything...I mean absolutely NOTHING!!! It's like just treading water on a daily basis. Not really wanting to go through the changing meds thing, I wondered if it's possible to be taking too much so I lowered the dosage. I have an appt. with my doctor next month but wondered if anyone has any thoughts, advise, suggestions regarding Prozac and Wellbutrin.

Hi Sandy ~ Not sure how you can tell. I mean, I guess if you decreased the dose again... and see how you feel? I mean, talk to the doctor of course... But, if you wean off it all and feel good, then you'll know. If you don't feel good, then you may still need it.

It's hard to tell with meds if they're doing most of the work or if you are. Let us know what your doc says, k? (((((hugs))))) ~ Sly
