Hi, I am a 27yr old mother of 3. I have been having some different symptoms for some time now and don't know what they are pointing to...

I have been very clumsy for about 6 months now...dropping things, falling, I have fallen down the stairs 4 times since January (never before that I can recall).

I have this hearing issue...at any given point my hearing will go "weird". Sounds will sound very loud to me all of a sudden, things sound muffled at times, sounds that are familiar to me (ie husband, and songs) are all of a sudden foreign to me. It lasts for short periods, and back in Jan 2006 I had full audio testing and my hearing was great.

Sometimes when I look at things, be it my children or clothing, they look completely brand new to me...not like ive never seen my children before, but they look different for a few seconds. Clothes of my son that he has worn for months will look foreign to me. Today I picked up my shorts out of the laundry and I thought, "Whos are these?" They just looked brand new to me...I have had them for about 2 years. My childrens stroller that we have had for over 2 years yesterday looked like a totally different stroller, like it wasnt mine. I have better than 20/20 eye sight, so no idea.

I get some ringing in my ears infrequently, and I get very painful headaches "behind my eye", but not that frequently.

I dont really know if i am explaining all of this correct, but I hope someone will decipher it. I just don't know if I should go see my doctor just to tell me its nothing. To me it doesnt feel right, especially the "seeing things differently" and the "hearing thing".

Thank you so much!

Hmm, I would definately go see your GP. At first I put it down to your ears for the falling and walking into things but now I am not soo sure. You say you get Migraines?? My boyfriend has something similar to you and they suspect he may haave had a minor stroke in his sleep....I would definately see your GP or even book into the hospital to see an doctor there...wherever woulod be better off for you.

It sounds like you're disoriented. I've had that as part of a generalized anxiety disorder. Doctors call it "derealization" and it's common with lots of anxiety disorders. Have you had any major changes happen in your life recently? Any new stresses? That could trigger an anxiety reaction. It seems the most likely thing from what you're describing, but I'm not a doctor, so this is just my 2 cents. It wouldn't hurt to see a doctor and get yourself checked out. If your headaches are something new, you should definately see your doctor. Good luck!

Hi mea1179. I am sure that what you are experiencing is very scary.

Please do see your doctor as soon as possible. It may be something neurological.

Let us know what the doctor says okay?
