It's me...
The "over-thinker."
I'm having a hard time finding energy to do just my daily routine.
I'd like to ask the forum, especially those who are familiar with chemo treatments---Do you have any tips for boosting your energy?
I was thinking of asking my doctor about B12 shots---probably wouldn't go with the chemo, maybe.
I'm still in awe of you people on here (my wonderful forum friends) that have had chemo & gone on with your lives during treatment--going to school, maintaining a job, being a mom to kids, etc...
I don't know how you did it. I've taken time off, which you'd think would help me restore some energy....maybe that's it.... Maybe I just need to MAKE myself.
How 'bout it? Any tips, or helpful hints? Thanks so much.
My husband, even though he's not saying much, has probably just about "had it with me" lying on the bed...then the couch....then the patio....over & over...
What's scaring me some, is that I'm only 1 treatment into it---7 more---radiation... Will these dishes and laundry EVER get done???? ??????

I've said it before, and I'll say it again---
You ALWAYS pull through for me, Ails....whether it's laughter, knowledge or just girl-talk!
I told you I like ice cream right now---well, there's these little individual wrapped "Dove" (tiny) bars, ice cream with chocolate coating---and I just can't seem to get enough! It's as if they "call" me all the time from the freezer...."Come get me....I melt in your mouth...."
I suppose if there's ever a time not to feel guilty about chocolate, it's now.
I still was wondering about the energy, though---
I suppose it just comes & goes, like everything, right????

Mmm the little Dove bars are nice tho I don't keep them in the house coz everytime I go in the freezer, there they are, winking at me!! Fortunately I have no excuse (and pretty soon you won't either ;) )
All joking aside, laughter, love and choccie give you energy as all produce endorphins - the happy hormone - which gives you a lift and an energy boost. Much in the way exercise does - but that's not really an option at the moment - although a gentle walk when you feel up to it should perk you up a bit!!

hi Ladies your old mate here
I thought dove was a bar of soap!!
If any one has a cure for singer I will like to know what it is, I am sick and tired of having no energy.
Singer i am glad you are still seeing the funny side, you have had me worried, like I can talk right now eh?
Hire a cleaner to do your chores you have an excuse, I am just dirty!!
Ails if you eat chocolate and run at the same time does it count?
Not that i can run, but if i eat it and really really think hard and tell myself I am running do you think that would work:confused:
No nore do I - stupid really, but that's me folks,
love to you both susie xx

The "Dove" bars aren't soap!---Now, wouldn't that just be awful?
They're individual little ice creams---so scrumptious. I feel like I was when I was pregnant---able to eat anything I wanted....although, it's to load me up with calories, and this time around I don't get the reward after 9 months! LOL!
Fairy--have you asked your doctors about vitamin B12 shots for energy?
My mother swears by them for energy. Maybe you're a candidate. In my case, it's the chemo zapping my energy. My niece is a nurse and discussed me with the chemo nurse's, and she said, "blame it all on chemo..." Those are some nasty, nasty poisons. But, whachagonnado? I want to be well.
Maybe, too, Fairy---some light exercise for you will "give" you energy. I found that when I made myself do something...eventually, I slowly (very slowly) felt better. It's the getting started that was rough.
How 'bout fast walking---like with weights? Around the block, or at a park....
Or going with your children. I would imagine you have enough at home, just taking care of them. Does your husband help out???? Hope so...

I wish I had an answer Singer for the energy crisis. I did not handle chemo well and had no energy and slept heaps. But my oncologist said I had to get calories in me and I drank a lot of Ensure and Boost. That was about the only thing I could handle.
I don't know when your next treatment is but I hope your on the "up" side of the last one.
