Hey ladies, its been awhile since Ive been on. I found out I was PG in april and I'm now 3 months along. Ive gone to 3 doctor appointments and have heard my baby's heart beat twice. It is beating at about 160 beats a minute. My fiance and I dont want to find out what the sex is until its born. Everyone i know is telling me that I'm going to have a girl because the heart beat is so fast, and boys are so slow, is that true? Thats the question I need some advice on.
Let me know when you can!! Congrats to all the ladies got a BFP since Ive been on!!!!
Thanks
Mi'chelle

Hey Lucky
Great to hear from you and really glad you and bub are doing well. I have heard that girls heart rate is higher than boys but I dont know at what range it is, so not sure looking at your babies heart rate if its a girl or boy. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and I hope you have a wonderful birth and healthy baby whatever it is. Any names picked out yet?

Hi Lucky
My sister just had a baby boy in March and the heartrate always ran high during the pregnancy. So no, it's not a sure way to see if its a boy or girl. I think it's just a fun thing to track and see what happens!:) :) God bless your pregnancy and hope you have a healthy baby!

Hi lucky23!
I think a lot of that "how to predict" stuff is just fun folklore. That being said, I just knew that I was going to have a boy, even when my first ultrasound tech said that it was a girl. (Apparently a penis can look like labia in utero!).
Anyway. Congratulations. I also recommend joining the pregnancy board of this site. I practically lived there while I was pregnant.

I have also heard that girls heartrate is usually faster than boys; however, I had a boy and his heartrate was usually around 150 or 160 too, which made me think I was having a girl the whole time I ws pg! Then he was born & was a boy, so it was a big surprise! I think it's just different for every baby.

I have had 4 children all with the same heart rates until the delivery. I have two boys(12 and 4) and two girls (almost 3 and almost 1)
There are many folklores out there and they were meant to be fun back in the day to pass the time and have women gossip about who was having what and which "whom";) . There are many and are fun.
If you are asking this, is this because you would like to know if it truely is a girl? If so then i would honestly say to find out the sex.
I wanted to know with my first so badly but my mother and exhusband were in the room and they said no. I swore I would never let that happen again. with my 2nd I told my husband I was finding out period! And we did and it made it so much easier to know what baby was . I was able to prepare. Knowing the 3rd was a girl really helped because I had no girl stuff so i was able to get another baby shower and start with girl stuff right off the bat.
Everyone is different. But if you are looking to find out if this tale is true then I would think that you are curious as to the sex. If you are talk to your dh and tell him you might want to find out.
Either way CONGRATULATIONS on getting pregnant! Have a happy an save pregnancy. Oh if you do find out can you tell us!;) ;) ;)
