Ok, so I was having the kidney pain with blood in my urine and went to my appointment with the urologist who sent me for a CT scan.
Today I got a call from my urologist and he tells me I have a stone about 10 x 12mm and I'm going in tomorrow for a cystoscopy with stint placement and next week some time I'll be getting a lythotripsy. I'm scared! What can I expect? Thanks for any info!

I was scared too, but try not to worry too much. The lithotripsy is not that bad. You will either be asleep or very, very restful. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour, but that goes very quickly. There will be some bruising and some blood in the urine for several days, but that is normal and not painful. I had some pain the next day as I passed two large pieces - nothing I couldn't handle. It took me a month to pass all of it, but many of those days I felt fine and it only hurt (again not awful) when I passed some larger pieces. You might be a little tired that evening due to the drugs, so rest and sleep if you want to.
I didn't have a stent, so there are others on here who can help you more with that.
Again, it is not as bad as you are probably imagining right now. Others on here will help you to feel better about it too.

PS Sorry, I neglected to say that your back might be ache for awhile where the procedure is done. This is normal too and from my experience, not that bad.

Thankyou that makes me feel better:) When they told me that the cystoscopy with stint is a surgical procedure, I wasn't ready for that, though!I'm going in tomorrow for that.
