i have a large pimple-like sore in my mouth. it's on the side of my mouth just near my top right rear molar. it's very weird, sort of like a growth of the gum. it almost looks like part of the skin/gum (inside of the cheek) got cut away, got swollen up, and is now dangling and has a white head that looks like a small canker sore on it. i don't think anything was cut though, as it really doesn't hurt.

i'm not sexually active but i did kiss someone i didn't know too well recently, and was told mouth herpes can spread. just don't know if that's a sign at all? i have never seen anything like this and i have no sores on the outside of my lips neither do i have any more of these lesions in my mouth nor have i ever had anything like this.

Is in on the gum line or on the cheek? You say it looks like a growth of the gum but then you say it looks like part of the cheek is cut away.
If on the gum could be a boil or and abscess. If on the cheek a cancer sore or abscess.
It's best to see your dentist. Till then try rinsing your mouth with 1/2 teaspoon of table salt in 8 ounces of water several times a day.
