Hi all,
Last night i went to emergency for severe pain in my right pelvic area and it extended down my right leg. The doctors did blood tests and urine tests all which were fine but my CAT scan indicated an ovarian cyst. They gave me some ultram and told me to see my gyno- they made it to be no big deal but I am annoyed at how painful it is-- I was curious if anyone has had a similar experience and how they were treated, how long before the pain went away, etc. I also have a history of ovarian cysts (one surgically removed) and endometriosis (also removed by surgery in 2003) any help or insight would be helpful as the doctor ar the er made me feel quite foolish for being there-
thanks alot

Hi there! I am so sorry you had to deal with pain and the ER. I have had 2 cysts (I think anyway!), one ruptured and the other was removed by laparoscopy about a year 1/2 later. I also found out I had severe endo. How fun! I almost went to the ER for the ruptured cyst but decided I would just deal with the pain and pray it would go away soon, I didn't want to go to the ER and have nothing done and me home with a pain pill. It went away soon luckily and just had some tenderness for a couple days.
I would get into your Gyn. soon to get it further checked out. Did the ER tell you if it had ruptured or what type of cyst it appeared to be? Mine was an endometrioma (the "chocolate" one), so they are more worrisome and associated w/endo. Good luck and hope this helped a little. You should be feeling better soon, I hope! LEt us know how you are doing!

thanks for the help- i seen my gyno today. She thinks that the cyst is really close to a lesion formed by my endometriosis and thats why the pain is so bad she gave me some pain medication and told me that the cyst should go away in two weeks or so and so should my pain! Yea! If not, I have to call her but let's not think about that right now.. I appreciate your support and your case sounds similar to mine -it's lovely to be female isn't it? well take care and thanks again! ;)
