Pollack20 06-20-2007, 07:22 PM What is the biggest kidney stone you have passed? Rickysmom 06-20-2007, 10:01 PM I haven't passed it yet but mine's 10mm x 12mm and blocking flow from ureter to bladder. I'm getting litho next week. Rickysmom 06-21-2007, 05:26 PM Be careful of your fluid intake with a stone being obstructed... Should I not be drinking as much fluid? I thought I was supposed to drink MORE water? Pollack20 06-21-2007, 06:08 PM I know. The DR said drink atleast 10 8oz glasses of water a day. He said "push fluids". To me that means drink a lot of water. I thought the idea was to force the stone out with water. :dizzy: Pollack20 06-21-2007, 06:10 PM Rickysmom- Are you having a lot of pain? Not to be nosey but do you have the urge to go to the bathroom a lot or do you just not go at all? Rickysmom 06-21-2007, 06:43 PM Rickysmom- Are you having a lot of pain? Not to be nosey but do you have the urge to go to the bathroom a lot or do you just not go at all? When I'm not on pain meds I feel like I'm having a UTI and I feel really crampy, kinda like my periods before I had kids. Before I had the stent placement I wasn't going very often, maybe 3times a day, now I have to go about once an hour! Pollack20 06-21-2007, 06:46 PM I've never had a stent but do they put it in when you are awake or is that something they put you under for? Rickysmom 06-21-2007, 07:08 PM They put you under for it. It's crazy, I've never had surgery before so I've never been anesthetized till now and I have to do it 3 times in about a 2 week period! But it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, ya know, from watching t.v. where people are actually awake and can feel everything but can't move or they don't wake up after being anesthetized! No, nothing like that. Melissa29 06-21-2007, 07:46 PM My kidney stone was 2CM, it was a Big stone. Couldn't pass it, and litho didn't break it up so I had the laser surgery. Good Luck! I get my stent removed the 27th, I am happy about that. Take Care, Melissa Pollack20 06-21-2007, 07:53 PM Yeah I had a procedure done last year and that was the first time I was put under. I was scared shitless. (excuse my language) Halfway throught the procedure I started to wake up and was trying to use my tongue to push the tube in my throat out. I remember the nurse telling the DR I was drowling. Then they put more medicine in me. CrAzInEsS!! I do have to admit..it was the best sleep I have ever had. Rickysmom 06-21-2007, 09:03 PM Yeah I had a procedure done last year and that was the first time I was put under. I was scared shitless. Then they put more medicine in me. CrAzInEsS!! I do have to admit..it was the best sleep I have ever had. How SCARY!!! Pollack20 06-21-2007, 10:59 PM LOL. Yeah it was scary. The scary part was that I thought I was choking because of the tube in my throat. I remember feeling the tube with my throat and trying my hardest to push it out. It wasn't a major surgery just a minor procedure thankfully. Otherwise I probably would have had a huge problem with that. My conclusion was either: they looked at my weight wrong in the chart and under estimated the amount of medication they gave me or the DR didnt know what he was doing. For my sake and the DR sake I give him the benefit of the doubt and say he looked at my chart wrong. LOL |
