Dkon32 06-21-2007, 05:52 PM Hey all.
Well was tested last week and my T was 205!What the hell.
The dose i was on on before was making me pretty horny,i guess
would be the right word.I had to ejaculate every day,if i didnt i
could not go to sleep.
I had been feeling very bad,extreme weakness,lethargy,anxious,
stiff hands, not wanting to speak, very irritaded. And so on.
So i went and got tested.I couldnt believe the results i got today,205!!!!
The last time i was tested a few months ago,i felt the really like crap &
my T was 998!***.....
Could this have something to do with DHT?
He checked my Estradiol & it was normal.
Also.could muscle twitching be caused by a low T?
Ive been getting these crazy for the last year.
Im on 10% compound cream twice a day now.
Thanks everybody!
hayfarmer 06-21-2007, 07:55 PM You need to post your estradiol number. It is probably "normal" now because your T is so low and estradiol comes from conversion of T to estradiol by aromatase enzyme. You probably felt like crap when your T was almost 1000 because your estradiol was too high.
How long have you been on T replacement? Is it possible your T got so high because you just started T cream and your testicles had not shut down yet so you have 2 sources of T? Now that your testicles have shut down you only have one.....the cream. What is your dose of cream? I mean what volume or better yet weight do you use per day?
DHT can get high with creams but I don't know that it would make you feel bad. It might make your hair fall out. To minimize DHT rub the cream into as small an area as possible.....but this will also maximize estradiol.
Jinxy285 06-21-2007, 08:08 PM In regards to DHT... I know that high DHT causes hair loss and acne, ala steriod users. I was under the impression that DHT also caused mood swings and anger, the infamous roid rage..... correct me if I am wrong....
Dkon32 06-21-2007, 10:04 PM i dont know my estradiol,he just said its ok.
my real question i guess would be is,how can i have such an
extreme seminal production with my T being at the level it is?Low....
And still feel very weak at the same time?
I believe it might be low DHT.
Well thats what Dr.Lin told me anyway.
Been on TRT for 3 months.
My cream is an exact copy of androgel strength 1%
Starting today he wants me to double it but should i be weary?
hayfarmer 06-21-2007, 11:55 PM Don't believe it when a doctor says it's normal. Find out the number. We have had many people on this board with all the symptoms of low T and a T level of 250 or 300 and their doctor said their T was "normal".
Anyway, everyone is different and we all have different responses to the low T. So none of your confusing symptoms surprise me.
As to your T cream dose, you said originally it was 10% but now say its 1%. What really matters is how many miligrams of T you get per day or week. So you should be able to calculate that from whatever % it is and how many grams a day you take.
For example I used to be on 10g of androgel a day and that was supposed to deliver 10 mg of T so I was getting 70 mg per week theoretically if it all absorbed........which it didn't.
If you have only been on it 3 months then that explains why your T level dropped so much. You testicles have now shut down so all your T now comes from the cream. Be aware they will begin to atrophy now....shrink and get soft.
Dkon32 06-22-2007, 12:48 AM Ok,
But what can explain my extreme seminal production with such
a low T level?
How am i able to pull that off?
My cream is the same as 10g Androgel.
But know he wants me to do that twice a day.
Why does it drop so rapidly after a few month???
Dkon32 06-22-2007, 02:43 PM Anybody????
Dkon32 06-22-2007, 02:49 PM How long does it take to get T back up from it to 200?
With compound cream?
Should i get a booster shot of T?
hayfarmer 06-22-2007, 03:09 PM creams and gels get your T back up in a few hours. It may take a few days to notice it based on how you feel if the T receptors have not been energized in a while.
I can't explain the large amount of semen. But your T was in fact low and low enough to do something about.
After you are on T replacement your body senses that your T level is high enough and it stops sending the signal to your testicles to make T. So your testicles stop making T. So initially your T will jump up high because you have the T from your testicles and from the cream. Then after the testicles stop you only have the T from the cream. You can end up with an even lower T level then before treatment which is why you have to monitor your levels and adjust your dose.
Dkon32 06-24-2007, 05:53 PM So is there anything i can look for,for why i have such bone & muscle weakness?
Ive been on TRT for 3 month....ie.infection etc.
Is anybody here still experincing muscle weakness still while on TRT?
So my testosterone not converting to DHT and instead
into estradiol really the only answer. For extreme muscle weakness?
I have to mention that i aquired Acute Bacterial Prostattis last November.
This had alot of muscle weakness acompanied.Along with all the other
symptoms, only somebody who has had this before i think can relate.
The last labs i had revealed a few staph organisms left in the prostate fluid.
But the Uroligist said no big deal.
Could there be a connection between the two.
hayfarmer 06-24-2007, 10:50 PM I did not know the past history of infections and weakness. I'm not a doctor and can really only speak to hormonal issues that I know about because I have dealt with them. I really doubt the infection issue is hormonal related though. Have you ever had your thyroid and adrenal checked out? It's possible muscle weakness could be associated and they could also effect your hormones in a big way.
Otherwise, you are getting beyond what I can make any useful comments on.
Dkon32 06-27-2007, 07:39 PM Well im im pretty frustrated now.
Ive been on compound cream for a couple weeks now.
My weakness has not gone away.
Now that im pretty
sure my testicles have hit the canvas.
Im going to try to get my Endo to Rx me injections.
How should i go about doing this?"Convincing" my endo.
Hayfarmer,i hate to ask but what dose are you on again?
Endo told me before that injections are once every two week.
But everything ive been researching says you should take smaller doses
once a week.
The endo i see seems pretty ignorant. He and another endo are the
only ones in town. The more popular endo is 3 months booked.
Thanx guys.
hayfarmer 06-28-2007, 11:48 PM I take 80 mg once a week. Most people actually do 2 shots a week of a lower dose. I think a lot of these doctors want to do bi weekly shots because they assume you have to come in to their office for the shot. If you can give them to yourself then its no problem. Just as for an Rx and give yourself weekly shots. If he will not give you enough syringes then you can reuse them but you should clean the needle with alcohol after using it the first time. and of course cap it and store it somewhere clean.
Also, I am bigger than avg at 220 lbs. My doctor says most men do well on 60-70 mg / week. Remember this is mg not ml. In my case my T cyp is 100 mg / ml, so I am taking 0.8 ml per week. Also a ml is the same thing as one cc.
I don't know how you can convince him except to say that you are concerned that you will have peaks of T too high and valley's too low if only getting shots every 2 weeks. Also with that huge spike you will get with that large dose your estradiol will get way too high also but most doctors are not even aware that is a problem for men so that may not be a good argument to use.
Also, you know the proper treatment is to take HCG along with the T cyp or gel or whatever. The HCG will keep your testicles working assuming they can produce any T. It will also keep them from shrinkng and becoming soft. Again, many doctors are not aware of this. Its really inexcusable for an endo not to be aware of this. When fertility is desired even the **** (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists) guideline is to use HCG instead of T replacement.
Dkon32 06-29-2007, 08:15 PM Im on 100mg,10% T cream every 12 hours.
Is this too much T?
Im thinking too much steroid will cause my muscle weakness.
That ive been suffering for almost 3 weeks now.
As also agreed by my pharmacist i should not be on this much.
Something bad is definitley going bad.
Thanx.
hayfarmer 06-30-2007, 01:17 AM 10% of 100 mg would be 10 mg of T per day or 70 mg / week. That does not seem too high but you really have to get your T and estradiol levels tested to see what they are to know for sure.
Dkon32 06-30-2007, 01:50 AM Im on 60GM of T a month.10% cream.
So im taking 20mg of T a day.
My pharmicist said that i should apply to scrotum
for more production of the super-hormone DHT.
That this might help with the muscle weakness.
hayfarmer 07-02-2007, 12:42 AM Didn't notice you said you were on the cream every 12 hours. That does seem like a fairly high dose, but again it all depens on how much of it you really absorb so you need to have your levels tested to know. Applying to scrotum will increase DHT but not sure if that will help with weakness or not.
Dkon32 07-03-2007, 04:01 AM Is anyone else here having persistant weakness
while on TRT?
when i was on androgel i did not have weakness i know this was not your ? but i felt alot better i dont know why that would happen but i dont know much about the cream that you on what kind is it.have you had any more test since you started the cream and how long have been on it for?i did feel strange for the frist month that i started androgel.
hope you fill better 421
ralphlemp 08-26-2007, 04:08 PM To Dkron 32: Noticed you mentioned twitching and weakness in two of your messages. I recently started taking AndroGel (5g) daily. Within the first week my stomach (this is where I applied the gel) started to twitch, almost non-stop. Since I didn't use it on a regular basis, I didn't make the connection. It wasn't till I used it 5 days straight (almost 2 months later)that most of my body began to twitch and become weak. During that entire time my stomach never ceased from twitching. When I typed in AndroGel and twitching under ****** Search, I came across your message. After reading what you wrote, I realized that AndroGel might be the cause. I stopped using it and within days the twitching and weakness are gone to my relief (thought I might have ALS). Interesting was that muscle twitching is not listed under AndroGel side effects.
