Hi there. Ever since I was about 10 I have had a red nose. It is never not red. I just cover it with foundation and powder and have learnt to deal with it. It is often cold too. In the past few months I have noticed the skin from my nose to my mouth and a circle on my chin is also red. I have a distinct change in the colour beginning around the line I have running between my nose and mouth. More foundation needed now. Unfortunately it doesn't cover it completely.

Am I the only one? I look at other people and their nose looks the same colour as their face. Any suggestions apart from cover-up would be most appreciated. Is this rosacea?

Thanks.

Hi tinarina, Well I'm glad you have already thought about rosacea. I just wonder how old you are ? Have you ever thought about seeing a homeopath ? I was diagnosed with rosacea in January (this year 2007) and all the medication I received (antibiotics and tablets etc) made my face feel and look 100 times worse. I then saw a homeopath and now I look lovely jublee again.:p

Thanks for that. Thought no one cared! I am 51. Where do you have the redness? Never been to a homeopath before (was thinking of a dermatologist). What did they suggest and did they prescribe anything?

Hi again,
Well the redness on me is usually below my cheeks and above my jawline. I dont know what that area of the face is called. Also pimples pop up with the redness. I know rosacea usually occurs on the cheeks, chin, forhead and nose (rosacea on the nose occurs usually on men, whereby the nose becomes big and bulbus looking). It's probably a good idea to see a dermatologist because it might not be rosacea at all. I'm just speculating. But it was my dermatologist who gave me all the antibiotics and crap that made it worse. But don't go by my experience, do visit your own derm. Also another good idea is to see a nutritionist (as I have done, and changed my diet. It also has really helped). If you do have rosacea, then stop eating citrus fruits. But you can look up all the do's and dont's on the web. But all this visiting doctors etc. cost a sack load of money !!! But do see a homeopath. I'm sure they can help. By the way I'm 54. Rosacea starts on us youngsters around our age he he. DOOM'n'GLOOM eh ???
