View Full Version : Possible renal mass update

Hello everyone had some good news at the Drs Office today. What showed up as a renal mass was actually a congenital cleft in my left kidney. I am not sure exactly what that means but it is much better than a mass. They did find a 1mm stone in my left kidney and a 2mm in the right. Any suggestions on what to do about the stones? Thanks for all of your prayers. Oh, they said I also had mild scoliosis.

Great news!

The scoliosis I wouldn't worry about, I have had it all my life as well. Ironically there is a link between Structural Kidney Abnormalities (i.e the Left Cleft) and Spinal Deformities so there really is no surprise there. Make sure to also tell you GYN - as when the two are linked there is usually another link to GYN abnormalities - usually they are not a problem unless you try to get pregnant. Not sure of your age. It all has to do with formation of the body from conception through birth. Trust me nothing to be concerned about just something to be aware of.

The stones sound small enough to pass, depending on the clef. Yes keep your hips elevated and help coax those bad boys out of there!

Good luck and we will get you through this!

Thanks everyone. It is soothing to know I have friends I can count on. Thanks for the advice and I will do the hip elevation. Now that you mention it when I was pregnant with my first child they told me that I had a tilted pelvis. I have 3 children ages 16, 13 and 6. I had to have a histerectomy last year. I hope everyone is doing well. (HHUUUGGGSSS)

Yes, I have teenagers. I have come to learn that my 13 yr old daughter is worse than my boys put together. I am having a good day. How are you doing?
