Has anybody has Lask surgery rcently. I am scheduled fot it Nov. 28th. My dental hygienist just had it, and the results are great. She is 51 years old, and had 'mono-vision'; one eyes sees distance, the other close up [just like the contacts I've worn for many years]. She is so happy with the results. I saw her the next day.I have dry eyes and can't wear my contacts any more. It's expensive, but I think worth it. Anybody have this surgery recently?

I had LASIK surgery about a year ago. It was a total success. I now have 20/15 vision in both eyes. I don't have halos or streaking or problems with night vision. The dryness resolved within a few months. I guess I was very lucky. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well, how did it go? I had LASIK over 2 yrs ago then an enhancement to my right eye about 6 months later.
I initially had dry eyes and some halos, but they all resolved within a few weeks. I also had double vision when looking at numbers on screens for a couple of weeks (saw a 66-33 baseball score and KNEW that was wrong).
I've been thrilled with the results and hope you are too.
Hi. This is Joy again. I had Lasik a week ago, and had it only on my right eye [for distance]. I had a small abrasion and the doc wants to wait to do the other eye [in another 9 days]. My vision is very good but I have dryness which does affect the vision, but I use gel at night and drops during the day,, and today [the 6th day] my vision is great. I am doing monovision and will have the other eye as my closeup eye. I've done this with congtacts for years, but the dryness the last few years made contacts very difficult to wear. I'm pleased with the Lasik, and hope the dryness subsides eventually or I'll get puntal plugs [which I had quit a while ago]

Joy,
I'm glad to hear that things are doing well. I hope your second eye goes well too. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi, I posted earlier, but it didn't show up. I did have my Lasik, but only on one eye due to small abrasion. My doc wanted to see how I healed before he would do the other eye. I had my distance eye done and it's six days, and I can see quite well. I am doing 'monovision'.I have a little dry eye but use drops and gel at night. I get my other eye done in 8 days. The dryness which blurs vision a bit worried me, but it's a lot better now. If my other post shows up, sorry for repetitioin.

All went well with my Lasik surgery for the 2nd eye. I'm putting lots of drops in them cause they do get try. I had monovision and I am 20/30 in the distance eye and 20/20 in the closeup eye. I'm 55 yeas old and could not see print on paper for 20 years! I had astigmatism too. Just had closeup eye done late yesterday. The computer is a little blurry at times, but mostly I see it just fine. I'm happy I did it. Thanks for your support.
