Does anyone here HAVE NO periods? Lots of people are not regular, but I have NEVER had one in my life without Birth control pills . I’m talking to my dr. Now About getting pregnant, but its such a slow process. And not to mention how unhealthy I feel all the time, I wonder if even getting pregnant is a good idea. My doctor doesn’t even know what’s wrong with me. I can’t help but to feel like my body hates me :( why can’t it just work properly? :(

I am sorry that you are dealing with this problem. It must not be easy.

If your dr is not really helping you i would suggest you find another one.He should be able to give you some answers.
Have you done any tests yet like blood work or an ultrasound of your ovaries?

I am 28 and haven't had a period w/out meds in at least 8 years. I had them off & on in my teens, but never regularly. When I was on the pill, they were so regular and light, but since going off the pill at age 23, I have not had a period, except when I've taken Provera. My OB/GYN told me that you need to have one at least every 3 months to shed that lining. I guess if you never shed it, then you are more at risk for cancer. You can take Provera and this should make you have one, but you will also probably need meds to make you ovulate. I struggled w/ IF for 2+ years and finally conceived my now 2-year old son using injectable meds, and now I'm dealing w/ IF again going on 1.5 years. I hope it helps to know that there are people out there like you, which is unfortunate for both of us. I wonder everyday why my body can't be normal and why it it's so hard for me to get pregnant!

I'm going to talk to my dr about seeing a GYN and getting that medician you have. it sound s really good

Hi miyu,

I have never had a period without medication. I believe the medical term for the condition is called "primary amenorrhea" and there are many things that can cause it. Perhaps you should talk to your doctor about seeing a regular endocrinologist to help determine what might be going on. My own issue is a pituitary dysfunction. Simply put, my pituitary does not send the "signals" to my reproductive organs to produce the proper hormones that cause reproductive activity, such as ovulation.

On a positive note, I was able to get pregnant. I worked with a reproductive endocrinologist and was able to get pregnant after one cycle of injectable fertility medications to stimulate my ovaries. I have 10 month old twins.

I think step one would be to try to determine the cause of your amenorrhea.

Wishing you the very best.

Hi Miyu! I'm 21 and I have a LOT of troubles with my period. I first got my AF when i was 13, and ever since then, AF has been ridiculously irregular. Even when I was on BCP, it was still pretty wonky. My dr said it's probably becuase I have pcos, or something close to that because in his experience and research some owmen that have pcos or some form of that have 'rouble' with BCP. So I've been off BCP for about....eight months, and six out of those eight months I have been AFless. I have my appt with my GYN in two weeks to try and get me on something like metformin or something to get me to ovulate on my own. (wish me luck-- hopefully it's that easy) but def talk to your dr about your options. And my dr can be pushy to get to her next patients, so my advice to you--- don't let them go until you have every single question of your answered to your satisfaction. ****BABY DUST*****
