If you have never shaved the bikini area before you might get bumps or ingrown hairs. It really depends on how tough that area is. I've been shaving there for over 15 years everyday. At first I would had red bumps till the skin toughened but after a few weeks they stopped. You don't want to put anything on that area to cool it if it has perfume or alcohol in it. It will really burn. I have never had in grown hair.
I use to use the single disposable razors then I switched to the double razor. I now use MACH III and what ever body soap I'm using that day.

Waxing lasts longer. It depends on your pain tolerance if it will hurt you or not. Some women have no pain while others said that have shed tears.

If you decide to shave I'd start now.

Waxing is your best option in my opinion. It hurts, but it's well worth it.

I say go for the wax!!!! There is nothing like it!!! I love the full brazilian wax myself...there is nothing like it!!! It took me a little to get over the idea of the waxer and all but once it is waxed the feeling is amazing!!! (for both of you)

Wax on, wax off! Wax off, off, off! It hurts if you aren't used to it, but your hubby will surely be pleased with a full on Brazilian (or even something tamer). I like to have a wax about 2 days before a special occassion to let the redness settle down, but everyone is different. Shaving just isnt the same and you dont have time to laser it off. Get thee to a good spa!

Go for the wax. It is awesome and you won't have to worry about it while you are there. Give it a day or two before you go, especially if you have coarse hair. It grows back faster. Getting your legs waxed wis also very handy while on your honeymoon (I just went on mine last October, had full Brazilian and a full leg wax-made our time in Jamaica so much easier)

I use this cream called Coochy. It's a rash free cream, and it works awesome. I have really sensitive skin... everywhere. And I can use any kind of razors, except disposible ones. You can mostly find the cream at adult toy stores and such. Good luck and Congrats!!

What's a full Brazilian wax?
I'm new to this waxing thing...

A brazilian wax is a bikini wax plus every area under, over and inbetween. Basically hairless w/ a little strip up top if you desire. :)

If you aren't brave enough to go the way of the J. Sisters, then try Noxzema bikini shavers which don't inflict too much damage. You can find them in the shaving aisle at Walmart or Walgreens. They are small enough to navigate around your naughty bits. Just make sure you also invest in Tend Skin to stave off any shaving bumps that could form. You can find that at Ulta, Sephora, etc.. It is a salicylic acid solution that will calm those nasty post-shave bumps. It may sting a little but actually feels better a few minutes later and MUCH better than pus filled shaving bumps. Good luck and congratulations on your nuptials!

Would a depilatory – carefully applied – work just as well as waxing?
