I dont know if it is like this for everyone. But i did know someone that was up for weeks at night and they finally found out it was zoloft. But it took a long time before that started to bother her.

Yes, this is what I'm worried about and I haven't had the guts to try it yet, still waiting to have the courage, thanks for responding

I wanted to ad they were on it along time before it happened. However it took them along time to figure it out what was causing the no sleeping.I guess you could try and if it starts discont it.It seem to me alot of doctors dont usally look at side effects that might be some people problems.Good luck in what ever you do.

Hi i have just come off Zoloft for this reason, i was only on it for less than 2 months.

Everyone is different but i would lay awake at night for many hours and sometimes not sleep at all. I am now starting to take Cepramil which could either have the same effect or make it better... i will let you know :)

Also i had to take sleeping tablets, but i do not recomend these as it does make it difficult to get up early for work, plus they are quite addictive, its worth trying different meds to find the right one for you.

What works for one person may not work for another............you never know Zoloft could help you sleep normally again. I recommend staying in close contact with your doctor while following his / her advice.

I agree with jhu1321. I knew someone who took Zoloft before they went to bed b/c it actually helped them sleep. I personally took Zoloft 12 years ago for about a year and it was a wonder drug for me when I was battling depression. I don't recall having side effects.

I think that you are both right also, everybody reacts differently, now my doctor prefers I try Elavil as I also have chronic pains. Now it's another story Elavil is supposed to make you drowsy, just hope not too much, the opposite of Zoloft.

Zoloft is still on my list though, if Elavil does not work. Have a nice day
