I have wore glasses for 1 and a half years. I'm noticing that my eyes are getting worse and worse. Is there a way of maintaining the eyesight, or better yet, improving it?? When I ask teh doctor if there is a way to take of the eyes, they just say that it is in the genes and you can't control it. YEA RIGHT.

Seriously, is it once you wear glasses, it is impossible to turn back?? there has to be some kind of way right??

Semi,
The short answer to your question is: No, your cant change your eyesight by diet or otherwise. However, the reasons you wear glasses can change depending on your age. it would be helpful to know if you are needing the glasses for distance or near. Also your approximate age. Some nutritional supplements are being marketed to promote eye health, but that is very diffrent that the basic need for spectacle correction which is not an eye health issue but a geometry issue. The lenth, shape and curvature of your eye is basically what determines the need for correction.

the other short answer is Yes you can do other things that will improve your eyes sight. Your focus is due to muscle contractions in or around your eye. And as with other muscles in your bod, you can excercise them and make them stronger. You can even reduce and or eliminate the need for glasses in some cases. The people that preach this gospel are The American Vision Institute. Toll free 866 209 0604. I tried it it is a bit on the costly side but I did see an improvement in my vision. You do have to do what they suggest every day several times a day and after a couple of weeks you begin to see the benefits. Money back if you don't see a difference in I think it's 30 days. And one more thing, It's a lot cheaper than laser correction.
