I went to see a doctor about feeling dizzy & light headed all the time & it turns out the cause is extremly low blood pressure. When I asked what I can do to raise it he suggested consuming more salt, buying water with high amounts of sodium ect. Any other suggestions on how to raise my blood pressure?

I have the exact same problem, and honestly I'm not sure if you need very many more tips for raising it. Salt pretty much does the trick. I increased the amount of processed foods in my diet slightly, like eating a can of soup or a frozen dinner every other day, and I started drinking Emergen-C or Gatorade several times a day, and making sure I ALWAYS have 70 ounces ore more of fluid. My bp went up and stayed up within weeks.

Low blood pressure can also be a sign of low adrenal function. You could go to an endocrinologist to have it all checked out.

How low was your BP. Some people just normally have low BP.

You know, this is considered an ideal reading! My nephrologist told me he wants to see my BP get to 120/70-80, which is considered perfect. So I don't think yours is low at all.

My blood pressure has been around 80/50 and my heart rate has been in the low 50s for sometime now . I am nauseated, have insomnia and copd. I have no energy whatsoever although I used to be very active. My last blood test showed a low white count. My ekg was abnormal. I am taking Fe222 injections for severe osteoporosis and mega doses of vitamin d. My Dr. suggested I be tested for HIV, I haven't had sex for 2 years. would really like some input if anyone else has had anything remotely like this.

You should probably get another analysis from another doctor if this one can't even find anything wrong.I'd suggest a specialist like a endocrinologist or something because that does sound like a possible adrenal or thyroid problem.
