I just thought I'd put a shout out to any 1ww gals. (I can't believe I just used the word "gals".) Anyway, I will test next Sunday, and find out on Monday, July 2. This week is going to seem torturously long.
We did our first round of repronex injections (w/IUI) and I'm torn between thinking I may have twins or triplets (or more, yikes) in there, or fearing the opposite that yet another BFN is in my near future.
What are you stories? When do you find out? What are you doing to pass the time?

Hey JD! I am in my 1ww. If I don't see AF by Thursday night, I will take a test Friday morning. I like to take a test before driving 45 minutes to do the beta. I have wasted my gas too many times doing that. We did Femara with IUI this month for the first time. Other months I have just done Femara and timed intercourse and I have done one IUI on a natural cycle. We are really praying that this will be it for us!! I am not having any symptoms except woke up at 3:00 a.m. this morning and my stomach was growling and then had to eat immediately when I woke up at 6:00 this morning. That is the only odd thing.
What about you... any symptoms?? Good luck to you!! I pray that Amy started our BFP's from the 2ww thread!!

Hey Anna Leigh, I don't think I have any symptoms really, except I do notice that my bbs are quite sensitive/sore - but that usually happens before AF anyway. we'll see. I like your idea of testing at home first. I hope it works out, just a few more days to go! This could be it!!!

Hi
I will be starting my 2ww on Thursday. I am doing IVF so they make us wait -16 to 20 days depending on our after care medication. So I should know what mine is around the 12/14 of July.

Hi Girls, I am just about to finish my wait, I am 13dpo today. I don't have too much hope for this cycle, as I haven't had any symptoms that I had the last time I got a bfp(m/c 6wks.) Im trying to stay positive, but I was a bad girl and tested 10dpo and 12dpo both neg. I was getting faint positives from 10dpo the last time. Although I know symptoms can vary from pregnancy to pregnancy I just think I should feel something! My bbs are a little sore but that usually happens before AF anyway... If no AF tomorrow morning im going to test FMU with FR and see what happens. Ill prob go for b/w Thursday or Friday if still no AF....Wishing everyone the best this cycle!

Hi everyone,
I have 2ww to wait. We just did two iui's one on monday and one today. I had taken follistim for 5 days. I can't wait until July 9th. It seems like its going to drag. I'm suppose to go to the doctor on July 2 for an US and bloodwork. The nurse said the bloodwork will let them know if my estrogen and progesterone levels are at a good level to support a pregnancy. I'm not sure why they are doing an ultrasound so early. Would they be able to tell me if I'm pregnant that soon. I hope everything goes well. I'm a little nervous.

Hi Puppy. I am just curious what symptoms you were talking about when you said you were experiencing symptoms the last time you got a bfp. I can't decide if I am having AF symptoms or not. I am now 2 weeks from my trigger. I will have to wait until Thursday to be two weeks from my IUI. I never test early b/c the let down is too much for me. Let me know about your symptoms if you've got time.
Thanks

Hi Puppy, I have a question, what is "test FMU with FR"? I must not have been paying attention to that acronym (so many). I know what you mean about the sore bbs - I want to think its pg, but very well could just be my normal AF coming soon.
Chase, I've never heard of getting an u/s during the 2ww. The b/w makes sense. You may want to ask them what they are looking for from the u/s before doing it. Not that it's a big deal - we have soooo many - but just curious. Personally, if & when I do get pg, I would like to minimize the invasive u/s as much as possible, just to not "disturb" anything.
Sidenote: I just had a flashback of one of my friends who had kids in her early 20's telling us about how the 1st u/s was "internal" and how freaked out she was because she had always seen u/s on TV on the outside of the belly. At the time I remember being somewhat horrified and shocked...but now - I can't even count how many of those I've had - the Dr. the other day actually told me to insert it myself, then she took over...so wacky! :)

Hi ALM My symptoms were hunger! I was starving all the time and im not a big eater, my nipples hurt and slight sore bbs, cramps so bad one night they woke me up...i think that was pretty much it- and again that preg wasn't viable, so I don't know what a healthy preg would be like...What kind of symptoms are you having? When are you testing?
Hi JustDance- Its for first morning urine with first response hpt. Sorry if I made that up on my own- not sure if I used it correctly!

The two that have been left out to grow at now 4 cell and good quality so I am booked in at 1:00pm tomorrow to do the transfer. I can't wait. Puppy... my symptoms are pretty much what you said. I have woken up in the middle of the night the past two nights with my stomach growling and I even ate a bowl of cereal before I went to bed. I never like to eat before bed. My bb's are a little sore, more so at the end of the day. I am also having cramps, but I am afraid that means AF is on her way. The last two nights (sorry, this will be tmi), I have had crazy sex dreams that are vivid and that I can remember in the morning. I am also tired!!

I am in my 2ww, as well, (I think). I took clomid 6/13-6/17, and had an injection of Ovidrel on 6/22. We are trying timed intercourse this time, but if things don't turn out positive, we may attempt insemination next time. I am going crazy waiting until I can take a test! The waiting is the worst!

Wannabeamama,
The waiting is driving me crazy. Do you believe I was actually considering taking my last pregnancy test when I know there is no way in the world it will tell me this early. I have 2ww. I'm a little confused because the nurse set me up for blood work and a transvaginal ultrasound. I know the blood work is to check my estrogen and progesterone level but I don't know why I'm getting the ultrasound. Have you heard of this before. I tried to research it but the only thing I found out was that its used to check the uterus and check for ectopic pregnancies. The article said that it was usually done starting and 4 1/2 weeks pregnant. I'm so confused.
I called the nurse to ask if it was an internal ultra sound. She said yes and that the rest would be too. She asked if I was getting hyper already because I called to ask a question 1 day after IUI. She said it in good nature. I really want to call back and get a better understanding as to why. I thought about waiting until Monday morning and asking her before she does it. Any advice.

wannabeamama, good luck, did you have any u/s to see how effective the clomid was for you?
As for me, I am going for b/w on Sunday, and get results on Monday, but I really don't FEEL pg, so I already had a good cry to prepare myself. I feel total AF symptoms coming on. I have no idea what it's going to take to have a child (probably IVF or adoption which are both really $$$). This month I had 9 (nine!) follies and DH had 80% motility, morphology, 11cc (the average is 2cc) volume, so tons of perfect sperm, IUI and I really don't think it happened. So annoying. I know I shouldn't get too down yet, but I've just been here too many times before and think I can READ my body pretty well.

Hey JustDance... don't give up on this one sweetie. You still have lots of promise for a BFP. Everyone will tell you that the feeling of AF symptoms are very common preceeding a positive beta! Thanks Kari, that is really sweet, I forgot about that with Amy - I totally remember that now. I just got a little boost of optimism when I called my Dr office to check on the progesterone results that were taken 4 days past IUI, and it was 39.21, "which is excellent" so they said. So I checked online and sure enough, much higher than average for that time frame. I don't know if that's any indication of wether or not I might be pg - don't think so - but it sure sounds promising for not m/c if in fact I am pg. I'll know soon.
I'm so glad that I'm sooo busy with work & tons of other stuff going on in my life that the time is passing by relatively quickly (amazing, huh?)

Awaitingchase,
Good luck with the ultrasound. The last one I had was last week before they gave me the the Ovidrel. I went back to the DR today, but only for bloodwork. Turns out my progesterone levels are too low, so I've started on Prometrium. They didn't mention to me anything about any other ultrsounds, so I'm as lost as you on that one. I say you should ask as many questions as you need to. That's what I do. I figure if they get annoyed by me, too bad! They are the experts, and I don't have a clue. So, instead of stressing yourself out over it, just ask what you need to know!
Good luck, again! :) My fingers are crossed for you that you get your BFP!
Just Dance,
I had the ultra sound, and I'm assuming it was to see if the clomid worked, although they didn't really say anything, but told me to go ahead with the Ovidrel and the timed intercourse, or insemination. So, I guess it looked good. :)

Hi All
I've been offline for a few days. Am home sick with the flu and hoping that it won't have an impact on my two little ones. We had two 8 cell embryos- high quality and both went in under a general. I think this is the best way to go for me as there was no pain and I got to sleep for 2-3 hrs before having to go home. I am doing pregnal injections every 3-4 days. Holly, we don't do beta tests here. We have to wait 17days and do a urine test and if positve, we go for a scan in three weeks time. But we don't do any blood work. This might be something with my Ob. When do you start your blood work??? I'd love to know if there is away of finding out earlier.
Good luck to all and does anyone know if a bad case of the flu can have an impact on my little ones.
Best of luck

Hi Pauline! Sorry to hear you've got the flu...I hope you are feeling much better really soon. Maybe you can ask your dr if it will have an effect on the embryos?
My dr sent me for b/w 11 days after a 3 day transfer. I think you are supposed to be able to test 14 days after ovulation, which would've happened same time as e/r. But if you are HPT'ing there is a good chance of false negative, so maybe that is why your dr wants you to wait 17 days. That is rough! Waiting 2 weeks is hard enough!! :dizzy: ;) Sending you lots of sticky sticky baby dust! :D

Pauline, let us know if you find out about the flu, I have been sick with a sore throat and cough for the whole 2ww, so I was kind of nervous that that wouldn't be good for the embies if I was pg. I never asked the dr if that affects anything. Maybe that's why it wasn't my month to conceive.

Hi All
Thanks for all your support. Ruby, I am in Queensland. I have a lot of relatives in NZ and get over there once a year or so to visit. Where are you? I am so sick. I have been vomitting all afternoon, I am hoping that it's as a result of me being pregnant and not a side effect of the flu but I am sure that it's too early for afternoon sickness. I remember when I was pregnant with my DD, I couldn't eat anything after 3:00pm and was sick thereafter. It was like clock work. My stomach is very swollen and I am incredibly tired. I have done nothing other then lay in bed for the past four days.

Hi Pauline
I'm sorry you have been so sick and I really hope it is from pregnancy and not a stomach bug or a result of the flu. There is nothing worse than feeling nauseous so I hope that you recover quickly.
To answer your question I am in Auckland. We live on the North Shore in a suburb called Glenfield. My sister lives in Queensland on the Gold Coast (Burleigh Heads) and we were there just a little over a month ago visiting her. We had heaps of fun taking the kids to Movie World and Currumbin Wildlife Park and also spent a day up at the Sunshine Coast which was nice. The weather was a lot warmer over there though my sister says it is getting colder now - still warmer than here though! We would love to move over there but are not in a financial position to do so at the moment.
Sorry to ramble, I hope it has distracted you from your misery temporarily.
Take care of yourself and remember to keep hydrated.

Hi Pauline,
The beta is just the blood pregnancy test. I'm not really sure why they call it a beta, but it's a lot quicker to type out...lol. They measure for the HCG hormone in your blood. I wish you didn't have to wait the 3 extra days too! Hope you are starting to feel a little better.

Hi Ruby and Holly
Ruby, I am in Brisbane and I have relatives in Lower Hut, Wellington and Nelson Bay. I've been wanting to get on all day and rub in the Wallabies vs All Blacks score on the weekend, what happened. Glad to be an Aussie. I love NZ. I have done all of South Is and parts of the North. The Milford Track is excellent and I hope to go back sometime and do it again.
I am still sick and vomitting every afternoon. I have another Pregnal injection tomorrow so we'll see. Thanks Holly for letting me know about the beta. We don't do a beta at my Clinic because they think it is a waste of money cause we have a national health health fund, so we wait a week after and then do a urine. We can do a beta, is we want to pay for it. I have decided to start doing urine test next Thursday as my last inject in Sunday and the 1/2 life of Pregnal is 72hrs so it should be out of my system by Wednesday. If I get negative then that will be it but if I get positive then at least there will be some hope.
Good luck to you both, sorry about Rugby Ruby!!!!!

Hi Ruby
Been busy. Had my Dad's 65th this weekend - we had a party of 80 and everyone asked if there was anymore childrend.....I explained but it was difficult. It was a great party. He is the NZ connection. I don't really watch the legue. The boys here that play it are pretty rough so most people have converted to union. Wallabies won again on the weekend. Must admit, the S.A sent over a 2nd rate team. I have another week wait. Find out this time next week. Had my last pregnal inject this morning so am wondering if my AF will come. I have a lot of cramping and sore breast...not sure if this is the med, having a cold, getting my period or early signs of pregnancy...know that I have gone off wine and coffee completely. Hate the smell of it. So that could be a postive sign.
Well, catch you during the week and thanks for asking after me

Et, do not worry if some things you did/ didn't get with DD. Women's bodies change after pg, so eachpg can be different. I had AF type cramps for weeks before I found out I was preggo I even told my Dr (I had the flu and I was several weeks late) that there was no way I could be preggo because I had recently had three failed IUI/Bravelle cycles. And I took a HPT two days later before I took stronger meds for my flu and I was definetly preggo. I though for sure I was going to get AF any day.

It sounds good ...and i am really praying hard that it s gonna be a bfp for you.
I got my bfp at 9dpo. I was sure it was not my months infact we had started getting arrangements done for SA. But at 9dpo i noticed the prominent blue veins in my bbs....and i rememeber Megs saying it was her first symptom so i thought i d test....and i got a faint bfp.
Hope it will be the same for you.
