View Full Version : Driving at night

As we age most of us are loathe to admit to our eye Drs. having any problems involving driving because we don't want any limitations
imposed on our licences! Come on out there..Aren't any of the rest of you having a problem with these %#@&* drivers who seem to use their high-beams all the time? Of
course that always bothered me..but now I find it blinds me! I have friends who won't drive at night because of this. Shouldn't more effort be made to educate drivers of the
potential carnage they can cause by their
irresponsibility? What do you think should be
done about this...or do you not see it as a problem?

I live in South Florida, and most of the roads and highways are very well lit here so you don't see too many high beam lights. When I lived in New York and Connecticut it was terribly dark at night; all those state taxes just don't go for road lights evidently. Many areas are just too dark for eyes over 40! Highways and roads should be better lit so there would be much less of a high beam headlight problem. Just my humble opinion....

I, too, find the bright lights VERY blinding. I am 27, with extreme farsightedness, and in bifocals already. I do NOT like the new headlights that are kindof flourescent or colored in a way. Also, there are some that seem to shake. All of this causes me to go blind for a second. Even people driving with one high beam and one low beam is bad. The glares from the headlights on the opposite side of freeways are terrible, too. I can't drive on the far left because the glare is so bad, I'll drive into the median or something. I wish there was a solution!
