I'm a newbie. I was diagnosed with Pcos in January. I've been through 3 cycles of clomid and provera a number of times to bring AF. I took FSH shots for five days. I just had my iui today. I'm suppose to have a second one tomorrow. I had two follicles that were large enough. One was 15 and one was 15.9. I thought they were to small but my estrogen level had jumped from 395 to 1045 in two days. They said that meant that my body was ready to ovulate. I hope it goes well. I'm excited but I'm trying to stay calm just in case it doesn't happen.

Thank you for all the support. The iui went really well. I did one on Monday and another one on Tuesday. They wanted to make sure they covered a 48 hour period after the hcg shot. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We had to go in an hour early so they could wash the sample so it would be more concentrated. They used a catheter to insert the sample it felt like a pap smear just a little uncomfortable. I have to go back this coming monday to get an ultra sound and blood work. I'm not sure what they will be looking for because I think it would be a little early but you never know. They told me that the blood work is to check my estrogen and progesterone level to insure that my body continues to prepare for a pregnancy. If the levels are low they will give me a shot to help my body continue to produce the hormones. At seems like the next six days are going to be forever. I'm on vacation and now I want to make a long "to do list" to keep my mind occupied. I can't hold it in I'm soooooo excited.

One day down. (I don't know how to add the smiley faces to my responses) My dh sent me to get a manicure and a pedicure. It's been ages since I did that. My friend came to visit me for a week and just went back to NY this morning. So I decided to go right after I dropped her at the airport. My dh is at work, and I'm on vacation. It was going great until the nail tech who was doing a pedicure for someone else next to me started talking about her prenancy, she is two months and this is her second child. Her client then said that she had three boys and that they wouldn't try for any more. I was excited for them but at the same time it made me wonder if i was pregnant and very anxious. I refocused on my pedicure and the massage chair, and began to relax again. Now it was time for my manicure. This cute little 2 year old came running to the person sitting next to me and leaned her head on her mommy. The nail tech who was doing my nails was the husband of the women who is two months pregnant. He said to the mother itn't that the most precious thing. He began to relay to both of us how he had to run for the ice cream truck for his little daughter when he went home yesterday. I must say it bought a smile to my face. It made me more hopeful but anxious at the same time. But on a side note I loved how they did my feet and nails. It was really sweet of my bh especially since we have really tried to budget for the fertility treatment due to the fact that my converage only pays for a small amount.

Thanks Holly I can now add faces.:jester:

I'm feeling good today. My bbs are a little sore but I'm not sure if its due to the hormones or other things. So I'm trying not to look at that as a sign. It's hard because everyday I'm look for something. :dizzy:

Hope I didn't overdue it with the faces I'm just so excited that I can add them. Its allows me to write with more expression.

06-28-2007, 09:38 PM
Yes, have 2ww. This coming Monday, July 2, 2007 I have an appointment for blood work and an ultra sound. I asked the nurse if it was an internal ultra sound. She said that it would be for right now. She said they were going to check to see if I needed an extra shot of progesterone to support a pregnancy. I'm still a little uneasy about that. I thought it would be bad just in case I did get pregnant to do an internal ultra sound. When we go in on Monday my dh and I will ask further questions.

My dogs must be in dog heaven. To pass the time I've been taking them to the dog park. Especially since we just moved into an apartment and no longer have a yard. I picked up a book to read over the week. Sad to say I spent about an hour in the Sams club when all I had to pick up was 4 things if any. One of my friends is getting married back in New York,:blob_fire and she asked me to help her find a reception hall that would fit her budget. I excited to surf the internet and make phone calls to help her. I enjoy doing things like that so hopefully it will make the time fly. I'm glad I could help her especially since I can't be there in person.:D

Hi hi Chase!!:bouncing:

I'm so very glad that you have something busy, and not too strenous, to pass the time. I'm sorry that you cannot be with your friend for her wedding, but it's really good that you help still!! :D

July 2!! I will be praying for you very hard that day, cherie! But is it safe to do internal ultra sound? forgive the question, but I have never heard of one since I came here. Oh I see, you are confused too. :) When you find out, please tell us, okay? Or perhaps one of our IF sisters will enlighten us, eh?

Very good, reading!! It has been nice weather to read outside! I'm so praying for you, my dear. Let us know how everything progresses, yes?

Hey Princess:bouncing:

The waiting is driving me crazy. Do you believe I was actually considering taking my last pregnancy test when I know there is no way in the world it will tell me this early. I have to wait until (july 9). I'm a little confused about the transvaginal ultrasound. I tried to research it but the only thing I found out was that its used to check the uterus, abnormalities, and ectopic pregnancies. the article said that it was usually done starting 4 1/2 weeks prenant. I'm so confused.

I called the nurse to ask it it was an internal ultrasound. She said yes and that the rest would be internal too. she asked if I was getting hyer already because I called to ask a question 1 day after IUI. She said it in good nature. I really want to call back and get a better understanding as to why. I thought about waiting until Monday morning and asking her before she does it. Should I go ahead and call or just wait until Monday. Any advise.

PrincessSweetNS
06-29-2007, 11:25 AM
Salut cherie!! :bouncing:

My dear, I would advise you call right away. If you have a question, you should ask, becuase you don't want to have it festering, especially since it's weekend. You don't want to waste your weeknd with that on the back of your mind, true?

I trust the article, but logically, it confuses my mind  If there is baby in there, shouldn't it be left undisturbed? Ah well, they know better than I, I suppose. But you must ask, to be sure. It's your first IUI, correct? They must expect you will have many many questions.

Hahaha, you are so cute, cherie! Wanting to take a test so early! And very understandable!!! Take it now if you so want, but don't be saddened if you see no pink/blue/second line/+ becuase you are right, it is too early.

Keep us posted, I am thinking of you!

Salut Mes Amie,

:D :D :D
Thanks for the advise. It was just on time. The office closes at 12pm on Friday and I just called at 11:30. My nurse wasn't in today so they transferred me to another nurse who covers. She explained that the ultra sound is to check the size of my ovaries. If my ovaries are not too big I would get a hcg booster to give me additional support. I welcome any additional support. She said it wouldn't tell if I'm pregnancy because it is way too early. I feel so much better, you were right I couldn't last the weekend. If I would have called earlier it would have saved me a lot of internet surfing for answers. :dizzy:

Now I won't anticipate finding out if I'm pregnant on Monday since its just a shot.

Merci,
Au revoir (please forgive me if I spelled it wrong)

Chase just wanted to let you know that it is safe to do transvaginal U/S while preggo. That is the only way they can see the baby at an early stage and they can't see them until around 4 1/2 to 5 weeks I think. I was 6 1/2 weeks along when I found out I was preggo with my son and they did a transvaginal u/s then and they did one at 7 1/2 weeks and another at 8 1/2 weeks. They won't hurt the baby because the baby is in your uterus and the u/s probe only goes in the va ja ja. Hope this makes you feel better. Good luck and hope you get a bfp on July 2nd.

I went to the doctor today for my ultrasound and blood work. The ultrasound showed that I still had some follicles or cycst but nothing major. Since they weren't too big they were able to give me an hcg shot to support a preganancy. Later on the nurse called me back with my progesterone level she said it was 20+ I'm so excited.:blob_fire :blob_fire She said everything is going well. The only thing is that since I received a hcg shot I won't be able to test if I'm pregnant until July12. The hcg could give me false reading. She also told me not too look for any signs of pregnancy because the hcg shot causes bloating and tender bbs.

Hi everyone,

I went away this weekend for an convention and just got back yesterday. I was so happy it made the days go by faster. I know I'm not suppose to test until tomorrow because of the hcg shot I received. I must admit that I took a test on Saturday. Even though I knew it wouldn't be valid because I had taken an hcg shot I just wanted to see two lines on a hpt so bad. I've looked for it for so long that I thought it wouldn't be bad to see it once. Guess what I saw too lines. It felt really good to see it. :D I know its not accurate. I have one more day. Tommorow morning I can test. The nurse told me to take an hpt Wednesday morning and if I see a light line to come in. I'm soooo nervous, I want to see two lines so bad. Part of me is hoping that the 2 lines I saw on Saturday wasn't just the hcg shot. This last day of waiting is going to kill me. I have to stay busy.

Good Morning Everyone,

I was so excited about testing that I got up 5:00 because I had to go to the bathroom. I was so nervous I held it until 5:30. When i finally did the test I saw two lines. The nurse told me I could do a home pregnancy test today. The lines are dark. I not going to get excited yet until I go in for the blood test just in case its residue from the hcg shot. I'll call as soon as the fertility clinic opens at 7:00. I'll keep everyone posted.:D :D

Oh Chase, that's exciting!!!! I just went back through this thread and see you had the HCG shot on 7/2. So it should be out of your system by now. And if it wasn't out of your system, I don't think it would be strong enough to give you two dark lines. I really think you're pregnant!!!! Congrats, girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yea im on progesterone so im tired from that!! but im More tired then i ever remember this time around, so maybe its not just the progesterone supplements. i also have weird little things going on. but could be related to anything. a knot in my pelvis, i do remember this from last ivf. i just felt like i had a pulled muscle, like it need to be rubbed out, and it came and went. who the heck knows, only a test will tell. im so happy for you, and i heard the tiredness only lasts in the beginning, but the first trimester can feel like the longest, i guess. good luck!! and keep up posted when you go for your tests monday!
