Amy 333 06-26-2007, 05:38 PM Just wanted to thank you all for your continuous support. I really appreciate it.
Jody how are you and your little one doing? Haven t heard from yuo for a while.
Mapia i d love to stick around to keep you updated but most of all to share the joy with all of you when you post your bfps. That is if its ok with everybody of course.
Kelly reading your post here brings tears in my eyes....that was so sweet of you to post when you were in pieces. I ve been thinking about you all afternoon and praying so much for you and your little one.
Kari. I am so glad that things are going smoothly for you.......really hope that you ll post your bfp soon.
Carisa. Do you know when you will start your cycle?
Thanks Christine. Yes i have my 1st antenatal appt on thurs with a great gynea. I feel lucky he took me on as he was busy when i had my m/c last year.
Aimee...will be thinking of you tomorrow
Princess thank you for your support.
Holly .....hope you are feeling better. Can t wait to hear some good news from you.
Amy
Mapia74 06-26-2007, 05:51 PM Amy dont be silly u are more then welcome to stick around.I would be upset if u dident.Plus remember I am coming to Malta hopefully soon.So just take care of urself and ur health and that little one.Have u guys told anyone yet or do u want to wait?
Mapia
Amy 333 06-26-2007, 05:58 PM Thanks Mapia.
Haven t told anyone yet and i don t plan to until my 1st trimester s over. If everything progresses ok my family might be upset that i did t tell them earlier. However my parents would probably be so worries for my health if they knew. My dad has an important trip in a few weeks . He ll be in South America for about 6 weeks and i know he d cancel it if he knew.
It hurt so much telling people i m/c last time round so i think its best that way.
Amy
Mapia74 06-26-2007, 06:07 PM I agree with u I would hold off as well on telling people. Can I ask u something Amy I was just curious are u from Malta I mean ur family etc?Cause u speak fluent english unless thats what they speak on ur island I dont know I am clueless.Sorry if I am being to nosey but u speak english like an american.
Mapia
JAM82 06-26-2007, 06:36 PM Amy,
Im sooooooooo happy for you!!!!
I cant believe you are finally pg!! congratulations!
I wish you all the best and a happy and healthy 9m
xx
Amy 333 06-26-2007, 06:37 PM Mapia
it s ok .... i love getting to know you guys too.
I am pure Maltese....we ve got our own language here which is in fact Maltese. It s a mixture of Italian French English and Arabic.
Since our language may be put into practise only locally most Maltese speak fluent english too. All our college and university books are in English so it really is a must have good command of the language. When i was a kid we only had 1 tv station and the rest Italian. So most people above their 20s speak excellent italian too.Nowadays things are different with satelite etc .
Ok the fact that my English is kind of American just shows that i am hooked to the boards lol........
I am sure most Greeks speak fluent english too.
Going to sleep now have work at 7 tomorrow.
Amy
Amy 333 06-26-2007, 06:39 PM Thanks Jam
How are you doing? Haven t heard from you much lately...
Amy
JAM82 06-26-2007, 06:49 PM Yeah im fine.
Took some time out while waiting for my body to rid of the blasted left over folicles from the over stimulation last time.
Started accupuncture and af came after 4wks exactly!! thats a first.
Started my injections last monday have another appt tomorrow to check the size of the folicles as the were only 0.9 on monday so iui well underway i have a good feeling about this one im so much more positive since starting the accupuncture i can process things so much better.
So glad you are doing well-hope you dont leave us now!!
How many did you go through to get you bfp?
x
carisa 06-26-2007, 07:29 PM Amy-
I won't be doing another cycle for a couple of months. Probably Sept or Oct. I'm supposed to have two periods from my miscarriage before I could do another IVF cycle or even to try naturally. I haven't even had my first period yet, so I'm guessing sometime in the Fall. I can't wait.
Carisa
Kari15 06-26-2007, 07:54 PM Wow Amy, I knew your were from a small island, but I just figured since your location says Europe you were from somewhere with a native English language! I admire (and envy!) anyone who can speak more than one language! I took five full yrs of french and still about all I can say in a horrible American accent is "je parle francais un peu". And that is a lie since I can barely speak it at all!!!! :jester: Anyway, that was fascinating to hear about where you come from so thx for sharing!
rubynz 06-26-2007, 08:30 PM Hi Amy
I am thrilled that your beta came back so good, you are well on your way to having a healthy little baby!
I was so interested in reading about your back ground. I have often thought of asking you about it. I had presumed that you were an American living in Europe as the language you use is very Americanised. I must admit that since I got hooked on these boards I find myself using phrases that I normally wouldn't use.
Anyway hun, I'm glad your doing well and I'm looking forward to sharing in the excitement of your pregnancy with you!
Ruby
mariella 06-26-2007, 09:33 PM good good good for you Amy, you deserve this happiness. Best wishes for a healthy and happy pregnancy. Love Mariella
Amy 333 06-27-2007, 01:29 PM Thank you all for your well wishes. Tomorrow have my first antenatal appt and rather excited. I am also going to get my first U/S done but i am sure it will be to early...so i ll just be seeing the sac i think.AF was actually due today so i am only 4weeks 1 day.
Seems like you re all interested on our tiny island. So if anybody s planning a holiday i am sure you d enjoy it here especially in Summer. Even though it s small (its just around 1 hr drive from one side to another- lenghtwise) we ve got loads of history and culture. We have temples dating back to 3500BC (ok i had to look that up) and are the smallest county to be in the EU. Many lovely beaches and a few smaller surrounding islands.
Since i thought nobody would have heard of this tiny island i never really specified.
AMy
TryN2BMommy 06-27-2007, 02:43 PM Amy, I'm so glad you are doing so well and your drs are seeing you so soon. :) Your island sounds like something out of a fairy tale. I bet it is just beautiful. It must be such a completely different lifestyle compared to what I am used to here in America. I hope one day I do get to come over and check it out. Maybe our kids will be able to play together. ;) Keep us posted.
Holly
Kari15 06-27-2007, 03:01 PM Amy, good luck with your appt tomorrow and please let us know how everything goes. Sounds like it is still very early for that u/s and seems like you are prepared for only being able to see the sac. I bet you can't wait to soon see the heartbeat!!!
I would love to visit Malta one day... I love being on the beach and it is my dream to one day own a home on or near the ocean! Out here in the middle of the desert, it's not really happening for me :jester: But don't get me wrong cause AZ is beautiful, and there are a whole lot of small mountains around the valley which keeps the scenery and the sunsets gorgeous for us!
PrincessSweetNS 06-27-2007, 03:44 PM Hi Amy! I'm really excited to here all about your appt tomorrow! :blob_fire It's so good that they aren't putting off seeing you, that really makes me happy :D Even though you might only see the sac, that's still amazing! I can't wait until you see the heartbeat! Or fingers!!!! I know it's early, and every child is a blessing but I have to ask....do you want a boy or girl? Do you have names picked out?? I'm so excited!
And to have your little one grow up onsuch a fairy tale island! C'est magnifique ca! I can't wait to hear everything, you must keep us updated!! (((HUGS)))
Mapia74 06-27-2007, 03:54 PM Amy that is interesting about the whole language thing.I thought u might have spoken french there but wasent sure.Well no greeks are now starting to learn english most kids now are taking english so it is not as well spoken there yet.But they are getting there. So happy u have an appt tomorrow I cant wait to hear how it goes. This is so exciting I am so happy for u.
The only reason I had heard of Malta is because when I was in Greece I would always see vacation specials to Malta.Wow that is a small island.I am serious about coming some day.Dont be suprosed if u see me at ur doorstep one day :D .
Mapia
Amy 333 06-28-2007, 01:31 PM Ok ladies hold on fairy tale island hmmmmm now that s way too far.But i don t feel like being negative so i ll just post re my first antenatal appt..........
So first got seen by the midwife who just did a general check up on me. Then saw my ob/gynea. Even though he s concerned about my situation and explained that he never had a patient with my condition he is willing to support me. I will need to be monitored every 2 weeks but i am fine with that. I thought i d have my first us but he said it s way to early so he booked 1 for the 7/7/07.
The funny thing was that i was jealous of all the pregnant women around me.....dh can t understand that well neither can i. It s either it hasn t completely sinked in or i am so scared.
Mapia you are more then welcome...i ll be moving to my home in a few months......i ll have ample space for you there. Hope that your legs better......this reminds me. It appears that my large orange sized bruise in my arm is the result of puncture to my lymphatic system and it really hurts. My whole arm feels numb nad it s gonna look so ugly tonight since i have a wedding. But hey i am not complaining.
Holly can t wait to hear good news on wed.
KAri wishing you all the best for a successful smooth cycle
Princess where along are you in your cycle. You support all of us here but don t tell us much about you.To answer your questions . I really have no gender difference. A healthy baby and a healthy mommy would be a miracle for me. No names yet.....and it will be a while. Don t get me wrong i am over the monn but i have to be realistic too
BTW you are all welcome here....any time
Thank you all for your continuous support
Amy
PrincessSweetNS 06-28-2007, 01:48 PM Hi Amy!
Hahaha, so not a fairy tale island? That's okay, it's still an island, which means beaches which means I'd be happy :D :D :D :D
That's much interesting about how you're jealous of the pg women around you! Maybe some left over IF envy, eh? ;) :jester: It's probaly nothing to worry about, but much interesting! :jester:
I'm really glad you're taking it eas and being realisitc. That's very good and I'm very proud of you. And I admire you for that too. I tend to put my hopes up very high very fast. Not always good. :p
I'm not quite sure where I am in my cycle.... Dh and I have been trying for a year, but my periods were always very sporadic (and when they came they would last weeks!!) and I had trouble with them even when I was young. I stopped the BCP about two months before our wedding. During our first year or so of marriage, my doctor just gave the "relax and it will happen" speech. But about six months ago my period just stopped. And I haven't been able to get an appt with my OBGYN until July 9th, and I made that appt five month ago. From when I was younger, they thought I have PCOS, so they'll hopefully deal with that. Anyway, tat's my story.
OH! I just noticed, your first u/s is 7/7/7!!! That's so magnifique!!! Very lucky, non? I love it!! You must tell us all about it!
TryN2BMommy 06-28-2007, 02:17 PM Hey Amy, it sounds like your appt went pretty well. I am SO glad to hear they are going to give you the close monitoring you need and deserve!! And first u/s on 7/7/7 - that's got to be lucky!!! By the way, I'm with Princess, fairy tale or not, an island means lots of beaches, and that's enough for me :D So, how are you feeling?
Princess, I'm so glad Amy asked about your story cuz I've been trying to remember your story (like she said, you are so supportive of us and don't post much about yourself) but felt embarrassed that I didn't know too many details. I hope that when you get to your first appt, they will be able to make some plans and schedule you in much quicker for your follow ups. The good thing about PCOS is that it is usually very treatable.
Holly
Amy 333 06-28-2007, 02:37 PM I am really hoping that the 7 s gonna be lucky. It actually runs in our family. All the members of my dads family(his parents my aunt and her children) have their b day on the 7th and it s kind of our lucky no. Both my dad s house and my house are no 7. Also the midwife today said my EDD is 03/07/08 and that s my dad s b day. Even though all my online charts said it will be 3/3/08.
Anyway yes we have amazing beaches but we are over populated and disorganised. The political system is **** . Everybody knows everybody you just can t have a secret. In work etc it s not how much you know but who you know and i just hate that. The VIP get to do what they want .....build houses on historical land etc and its so annoying . Enough ranting.
Princess i am sorry you are going through all this . I really hope that your appt will go well and that they will be able to solve your problem asap. Thanks for sharing. I ll e praying and thinking of you on the 9th July. Keep us posted.
Holly
I am doing fine thanks for asking. My bbs have really grown i need to go and by new underwear and i am tired but that s it. I think my envy is due to the fact that i am scared and i might not get to the point where i ll have a big bump. I also had nightmares last night. All related to my heparin use......kind of wakng up and finding my arm black due to gangrene sorry TMI etc.
I feel so bad about not telling my parents but at the same time i feel i shouldn t.
Holly i think we should get Princess to chat to us in French...that would be great practise. At least we could first reply in english then maybe after som etime(or months)start replying in French.Just wanted to remind you that i think you re an amazingly strong woman and i am sure you ll pull through this with a little one in your arms.
Princess i am sure you ll make a loving patient mother too.
Amy
Mapia74 06-28-2007, 03:10 PM Hey Amy glad ur appt went well.Sorry about ur arm sounds painful.Hope it feels better.Wow another wedding seems like u are always going to weddings.
I understand what u mean about living on a small island how everyone knows everyone etc.Even though I live in a city in greece the area I live in everyone knows everyone.I dont know many people but seems like everyone knows me.Well they say there is the american etc u know.I dont pay mind to any of them so I know that annoys even more cause they want me to talk to them so they can get info and then gossip.U just have to ignore them I know it can be hard at times.
Well my legs are a little better still swollen not to bad though I can actually bend my knees now so thats good.I guess we will see what the echo will show in 2 weeks.Well have fun tonight at the wedding and no wine for u missy......lol.
Mapia
Kari15 06-28-2007, 03:12 PM Amy, I really hope that 7/7/07 is gonna be a very special one for you. It's also my estimated transfer date, so maybe we can celebrate good news together!?! I think it's fantastic that your doctor is gonna be supportive of you through this, and I'm sure everything will progress just fine with all the monitoring he will be doing. Looking forward to hearing more!
Princess - I hope that your appt on July 9th will be a productive one and bring you great hope for a BFP that is soon to come! We'll be rooting for you!
TryN2BMommy 06-28-2007, 03:45 PM Amy, I really think things are gonna work out for you this time! How wonderful that your EDD might fall on your dad's birthday! Could you imagine?! I am just so excited for you! :D It would be pretty neat if Princess replied to us in French, but I am sure I would need a translation more often than not. It would be pretty neat though, and I bet we would become more familiar with it in time. Thank you so much for your kind words to me. I sure hope you're right.
Holly
PrincessSweetNS 06-28-2007, 04:49 PM Hello ladies!!
Hahahaha, do you really want me to reply in french? I'd love to if you would like :D I'm sure you would never need a translation, but if you did I'd be happy to.
Oh my, you ladies are so very supportive! Just knowing that on July 9th you'll be thinking of me...it touches my heart. And perhaps that will bring me much to hope for.
Holly, you're so funny! We should take our kids to beaches sometime, eh? And don't worry about not knowing my story, sometimes I get confuses as to whose story is whose, so I must read through pages and pages of thread to understand LOL :D And it means much to me that you tell me PCOS is very treatable.
Kari, thank you for your support, it really means much to me. I hope you become a mom very soon, as you will make a wonderful one.
Mapia, pauvre toi ma cherie!! Holly, how to translate "pauvre toi"? Mapia, I'm so glad you are starting to feel better. As always you have my prayers.
Amy, thank you for your prayers! That warms my heart much. I will pray that you have a nice big bump soon, with a nice healthy baby and mommy.
twinkiezinger 06-28-2007, 07:44 PM Amy, I am glad to hear your appt. went well. It sounds like this Dr., the best on your island, will be taking good care of you, appt.'s every two weeks. And I am sure you will still be followed by your other Dr's, right? I am sorry your shots are giving you nightmares, I sometimes have nightmares or even just dreams over crazy things, then I'm grumpy (grumpier than usual) in the mornings because I didn't get very good sleep. I love sleep!:D
Sorry to ramble again, I'm just happy you updated us, and so far, so good! Oh, and by the way, after you posted some info about your island, I started looking it up on the internet. One day, when I take my European vacation, I would love to stop by (although I only speak English)...maybe I will have a child then too!
Christin
Kari15 06-28-2007, 08:49 PM OK Princess, here goes my translation attempt.... "Alright my dear friends, you have my prayers. One day, we will all be mothers and have our BFP's. I like to have new ???? . Thanks for your support. Again, I pray to God each day that our dreams to become mothers will come true!"
So how did I do???? :D The funny thing is if you said all that verbally to me, I don't think I would have understood one word of it. Written I am so/so if it is pretty basic. I think that the foreign language eduction programs here need to be improved... and it prob didn't help that I wasn't required to take a foreign language till I was in high school! Regardless of our language differences, I know how much we all are looking forward to being a mommy and I too will keep praying that it happens very soon for all of us!
... and Amy, I pray that your pregnancy progresses smoothly for nine months! Hope you are having a wonderful nite with sweet dreams!
Black Kat 06-29-2007, 01:15 AM :bouncing: Congrats Amy! :bouncing: I am glad to hear that your numbers sound good! You will be in my prayers!
Kat
Hazel 74 06-29-2007, 06:15 AM Amy - I've been lurking on this board to check on you and make sure you're fine... so happy to hear all went well and your nos. etc. are looking good :bouncing:
I know you will continue to look in on my back there on the ttc board :D :D ... so look fwd to keeping up with your progress!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take care!!!!!!!!!
TryN2BMommy 06-29-2007, 09:42 AM Oh Princess, you will be so disappointed in me. ;) Kari's french is much better than mine as she translated more than I could. Our foreign language programs definitely do need some improvement. Although, I've been out of school for 10 years now with no exposure to french, so I can always use that as an excuse too. :D I really do admire your language ability.
Amy, hope you and baby are still doing great!
Holly
PrincessSweetNS 06-29-2007, 10:45 AM :bouncing: :bouncing: Very very good Kari!! A+++ The part where you got a little confused... I was saying I like to hear/have your stories! :D But you did very very well! I am very proud of you, you will have a bilingual child! Holly, I'm sure you did perfectly well, cherie, doubting nothing. I'm very proud of you for trying!! :bouncing: :bouncing:
Non, non, my language ability only comes becuase I learn form when I was very young, and sometimes out of necessity when visiting a foreign country and don't know how to speak. Otherwise I'd be staring at the computer going "Euh???"
Any I pray everyday that you have an uneventful, fun pregnancy. HOw are you feeling lately, ma chere?
Mapia74 06-29-2007, 12:08 PM Hi Princess ok I asked u in another thread what language u spoke so now I know.......lol.Thanks for ur kind thoughts.I am feeling a little better yes the only thing is that they are keeping me up night my legs. Not pain just feel restless maybe from they have been through. My foot is still a bit swollen lets see when that will go away.So ur E/R is July 9th?I wish u all the luck in the world and I pray u get ur little miracle soon.
Amy sweetie how are u doing? How was the wedding last night?Hope u had fun.
Kari looks like u passed French 101 good for u girl..........lol.I was never good at foreign language I took spanish failed.I do speak greek fluent but thats because thats all my parents spoke since I was born.So at least I know 1 language.
Mapia
PrincessSweetNS 06-29-2007, 12:41 PM Yassoo Mapia!! (I said that right? I wanted to say Hello) That is all the Greek that I know :D I learned it from Big Fat Greek Wedding :D :D :D I ahve always wanted to learn greek, I think it is very interesting. can you cook Greek food as well? I am so very happy that you are feeling better and the swelling has gone down. Where are you on your cycle?
Amy, how are you feeling, cherie? Good?
I think and pray for all of you! ***BABY DUST**** and healthy nine months!!
Amy 333 06-29-2007, 12:49 PM Christin you are more than welcome......
Mapia how are you feeling? How s your leg? June is the month of Weddings here. This was actually my 3rd this month. Today s a Public holiday here and eve s of PH are popular wedding dates here. I usually enjoy them but yest didn t feel like. There were my in laws and i don t get on very well with Dh s familY . Also all my friends went to a concert coz Bryan Adams was here and i would have loved to join. Also during the wedding i heard what are you waiting for to have a baby like about 10 times . BTW it was Dh s cousin s wedding so all his relatives were asking.
Holly do you have any news yet? Hope they call you soon.
Kari wow you are so close to your transfer....so when i go for my u/s on the 7th July you will still be fast asleep but i will be thinking and praying for you and the beanie/s to stick.......praying that it will be a special day for both of us.
Black Kat Hope that your next cycle will be the one...please keep us posted on when you schedule your iUI.
Hazel as i wrote on ttc board i will be here until you get your bFPs.
Princess we need more French i understood most of what you wrote. Do you speak fast just as they do In France. When i was in Paris i was dissappointed people speak to fast there you just don t understand a thing.
Amy
Mapia74 06-29-2007, 01:18 PM Hi Amy sorry to hear u dident have such a good time and sorry DH family is so rude.I totally understand I dont like some of DH family either I do like his parents they are great but some other members I dont like to much. But the good thing is neither does DH so we dont see them often thank god.Well my legs are ok not 100% still a little swollen not to bad. They itch a lot more and at night they are very restless which is starting to bother me.Oh well this to will pass.
So u feeling ok so far no signs?Hopefully u will be lucky and not get any m/s.Anyway sweetie I am praying so hard for u.
Mapia
PrincessSweetNS 06-29-2007, 01:46 PM Oh Amy, sorry you odn't like DH's family. You stil had a good time, though, right? By your 3rd, you mean anniversary? HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! :bouncing: why is DH family so rude? Is that just the way they are, or are they very mean?
I speak both France french and quebecois french. I grew up with quebecois, but I picked up France much fast, and I prefer it :D Most people understand france french more, beucase...I've been told..."It's frenchier" LOL:D :D :D But you're right the Parisian accent is crazy. Other french accents and dialects are much easier to understand :D I am very glad you understood!!
Kari15 06-29-2007, 01:58 PM Hey Amy, so sorry to hear about the all the pestering relatives with the annoying questions at DH's cousin's wedding  . But at least this time you knew a little something special that they didn't know!!! :) I hope you are doing good... just a week from tomorrow and you get your first u/s! I'm excited for you girlie!
Princess, thank you for the top marks on my translation!!! Good to know that all the money my folks spent on private education wasn't a total waste :jester: My HS french teacher always talked about Quebec and how she wanted to take us all there. As for my kids, growing up here in AZ, I imagine they are gonna learn spanish since there is such a massive Mexican influence and presence here... I sure wish I spoke Spanish!!! I think you're right though, it's all about learning at a very young age.
Mapia, hope your leg gets back to 100% very soon. It's no fun when you can't sleep at nite cause something hurts or is uncomfortable... whenever that happens to me I get very cranky the next day!
PrincessSweetNS 06-29-2007, 03:11 PM Salut Kari, no your parents did not waste a single cent, I assure you. :D And as for spanish, if you know french (which you do!!) Spanish will be very easy to pck, if you don't already know some. I'm goin gto teach my kids English and Arabic while they are young so they do not have to struggle as I do :jester:
Amy, how are you doing, cherie? Feeling good? So you are planning to tell people your secret after week 12, oui? Hahaha, Dh family will be kicking themselves when they realize. Hahaha!!
Take care mes dames!!
****BABY DUST**** Happy healthy nine months!!
Amy 333 06-30-2007, 09:26 AM Princess
So when i meant my 3rd i meant invitations to other people s weddings. My anniversary is in July 29th ...hopefully we ll have loads to celebrate this year. We ve been married for 2 yrs though together for 10 and believe it or not we met in Kenya doing voluntary work on the 17/7/97.
How long have you been married? Your appt is getting closer and i am praying for you.
Kari
I liked what you said re the fact how DH s family will react when they will get to know . I never actually thought about it...but they will be angry that we didn t tell them before. It s a pity but i am not at all close with my in laws they have in many cases shown lack of respect and do not support us in any way. When i m/c last year we told both are parents. His mom had a BBq organised the following day and insisted that we attend. I spent 4 hrs holding back my tears and still interrible pain.Ok i am venting here. I think its a pity ...i feel she is jealous of me........she feels i stole her son and is always trying to compete.
RAe you done with your b/w yet? Will you get your results today? Please keep us posted. I am so excited for you ..........i can t wait to hear some good news from you. I am sure you ll make a fabolous mom.
Mapia i am glad that you are feeling better. the itching is a sign of healing but don t scratch. Also do not expose your leg to alot of sun.As you might have read above not only don t i get on with DH s family but don t get on well with in laws either. Luckily DH knows they have done wrong and backs me up 100%.
I am doing ok. my bbs have really grown and really hurt. Getting used to giving the shots myself even though i still think its creepy. Don t have m/s yet though i have gone off chocolate and i used to love that.
Happy weekend to all.
Amy
Mapia74 06-30-2007, 10:11 AM Hi Amy such a shame DH family is like that. But I totally understand u many greek mothers are that way with their son's they feel that their DIL stole their son its crazy.Thank god my inlaws are pretty good and have been a great support through all this as well.Even though they are far they have helped us so much in paying for treatment etc etc.My MIL has said a few ignorant things in the past but nothing bad enough where I couldent put her in her place. But all in all she is pretty good. She is not possesive with DH and thats good.My FIL is great I love him to death he is very quiet and soft spoken just like me very easy going and loves company. So I am lucky I must say now my SIL she is another story she is ok I am not very fond of her but deal with it.I just think she is fake she has done a few things that made me lose respect for her.Oh well I dont have to live with them so who cares.
Glad u are feeling good and I am praying so hard for u sweetie. Its not a bad thing that u cut chocolate out might help u in not putting on any unwanted pounds........lol.Well enjoy ur weekend.Any plans anymore weddings???
BTW my anniversary is July 25th wow a few days before urs. This will be my 3 year anniversary.
Kari thanks my legs are feeling better they dident bother me to much last night.

Amy 333 06-30-2007, 10:37 AM Mapia
glad that your legs are better.
Had 3 weddings this month the next one will be in Sept now. This weekend going to a village feast tonight. They are quite nice don t know if you have them there though you probably do in Greece. Each village has a patron saint and every year they celebrate this. So the church will be all decorated and they put up nice fireworks etc.
Tomorrow i go to eat at my moms and it s not easy hiding the secret. Feel like i want to tell the world but i know it s not wise . So i really appreciate sharing this with you ladies.
I don t mind my FIL but my MIL is a nightmare. Ever since Dh and i started seeing each other she keeps trying to take decisions for us. She made a big fuss every time Dh and i went for a break together. And this after we had been years together. It hurts coz she doesn t act that way with her daughter. She was very cheeky when we had our wedding . She insisted on inviting 200 people just from her side without DH s friends without paying anything. Then every mothers day she insists that we go to her house every year as if i don t have a mother too. I was patient all along but last year after Mothers day she sent my SIL telling me that i am very selfish and that was when i had enough.ANd this because we spent 2 hrs with her and 2 hrs with my mom . She wanted us to stay there all day. Luckily DH was present so i have his support. I was especially dissapointed in SIL because every time ahe had a problem i helped her out. So now we just go there once in a while or for occasions. I don t speak to them much either.
She knows i have medical issues she never once asked me how i am doing? They are relatively well off too but do not support us whatsoever economically. We are presently renting a place coz our house is not ready yet when they actually have3 houses 2 of which are empty. Can you understand that ? I can t.......
However I feel so lucky to have DH he s amazing ...it still hurts that they dont respect me but i feel they are the ones who are missing out after all.My parents are the opposite they treat Dh like a son and support us in every way they can.
Ok this is ranting so i d better let you enjoy your weekend.
I can t believe you ll move in just 6 weeks.......i bet your counting the days. Can t wait to have you cycling again and to read your BFP post. you deserve this so much. I am sure that you and DH will make great parents.....
AMy
Mapia74 06-30-2007, 11:06 AM Oh Amy I am so sorry ur inlaws and sil are so selfish.I cant believe they are like that. What can u do some people are just so stuck up and into themselves they dont take the time to see how other people are.I guess its all that money making them like that who knows.I cant believe they dident offer u guys to stay in one of the empty houses they have.I just cant believe that.My parents are great to the house we live in in greece is my mothers but basically she will give it to me.So we live there no rent no mortgage.Greek parents are very big on helping their kids as much as they can.Dh and I are very grateful DH will also have a house from his parents and also half of their beachhouse with his sister. So we are very lucky.Dh and I do want to buy a bigger place so we can give it to our child later on.Slowly but surely it will happen. For now our little condo is fine very warm and always full of family and friends.
Ur inlaws sound like a nightmare or I should say ur mil.Anyway I would react the same way u do and not only that I wouldent barely let them see my baby.I am not kidding. If they were that mean and selfish I would cut them off.I would tell DH he can see them but I chose not to.Anyway.
Well sounds like u will have a nice evening. We do celebrate saints in greece as well. They have big festivals its great. So what religion do u have on the island?
Mapia
Amy 333 06-30-2007, 11:34 AM Because i love DH so much i try to be civil but that s it. My parents have supported us economically in every way they could . They do just anything to see us happy so we are both thankful for that.
here the main relighion is Roman Catholic. So basically you are either a non pracising or a practising Catholic. I am not very religious myself however since having these problems i did pray ....and i keep asking God to protect my little one.
I feel that locally people are a bit hypocrites...they all go to mass some even daily then they do not treat others with respect. I believe that the golden rule in an religion is to treat people with respect and help people whenever you can and as much as you can. I don t go to mass regularly but i do feel i have God in my heart and i believe thats the most important thing.
What religion do you have in Greece ? I have to admit i really don t know much about religions.
So what are your plans for the weekend? How s the weather there? here
was unbearably hot this week with temps up to 40 celsiusnow its down to about 33 so thats slightly better.
Are you at work? I am trying to get the house organised and doing some laundry etc. But i cut my finger with a knife nothing much just a scratch actually but due to my heparin shots it just can t stop bleeding. So that s a good excuse not to do any house work. I love cooking but hate cleaning.
Amy
Mapia74 06-30-2007, 11:57 AM Well at least u have great parents that support u guys.
In greece we are greek orthdox religion.I believe in god always have as a child my mom took us to church etc.I dont go much now only on holidays.I feel the same way u do the people who go to church are the biggest hypocrites (sp).Anyway alls that matters is that u pray and keep god close to u.I do want to visit some monistaries when I go back to greece and ask god to help us and also talk to some of the nuns they are great.
I am working today will get off at 2 the weather is not to bad today not very hot warm.I know in greece it was 40 all week I felt so bad for people there. My BF went to her parents beach houe and had godson at the beach in the water.I talked to her today she just got back cause it rained today so they left. She is funny her and her DH were like so one month to go I said no 6 weeks to go.They keep cutting the weeks for my arrival.....lol.My godson was saying godmom are u coming over now?My poor sweetie he is so adorable. He thinks I am coming now tohis house to cute.
Keep praying sweetie god will help u through this also light a candle tonight. After work I am going home getting ready for tonight we are having people over to say goodbye to my aunt cause she is leaving tomorrow back to greece. Then tomorrow we are taking her to the airport thats about it nothing exciting. Please be careful with those knives sweetie.I am the opposite of u I like to clean hate to cook.I guess I hate to cook cause I am not good at it.:D Well enjoy urselves.

Amy 333 07-03-2007, 06:42 AM Hey Mapia.
Thanks for your post. I just didn t log on yesterday coz i was working all day. When i got home at 8 pm slept like a baby till 9 am this morning. I am exhausted all the time. in fact i decided to quit my part time job in a private hospital and just stick to my full time job at the local hospital.
My heparin shots are not proving to be very pleasant but i won t complain.
Can t wait for Sat for my 1st scan. I work about 10 paces away from an u/s machine and can get one done anytime.... i feel so tempted but i don t want to tell any of the staff yet so i just have to be patient.
How are you doing? How s your leg? Hope it is better.
Just read your airport story......you made me laugh. You sound just like me i am so patient but when i get angry i look mad. Sorry about the pregnant women......i still get that feeling too.
I can t believe you will be leaving soon......the date is getting closer and closer. I know it must not be easy leaving your mom.....but i am sure that she wants you to be happy above anything else. Your move will help in making her a grandma soon too....so she ll be over the moon.
AMy
