Hey Brownie... I just had my consult not too long ago and it was very informative, interesting, and a little overwhelming. I'd expect they will describe the process, tell you the risks, and ask for your feedback in certain areas. My RE had something called a consent form where we indicated the type of transfer (day 3 or day 5) and the # of embryo's to transfer... although we agreed on transferring two on day 3, he said either of these could change based on the # fertilized and healthy on day 3. The form also required DH and I indicate what we wanted to happen with any unused embryos under various circumstances (such as divorce, death of one partner, etc). Good luck to you, and please let us know how it goes.

Hi Brownie~

I had my initial consult on June 15th, every clinic is different but this is what happened with me. We sat down with the RE and she explained the process of what happens, what drugs will be used, procedures, exams, ect. For example I need to have a saline sonogram, mock trasfer, STD testing, and a counseling session. We did the STD testing the same day just to save time, my clinic is 2 hours away. Tomorrow I will go to IFV class, where they go into detail of the procedures and meds. After that I will speak with the RE again and sign the consents and setup my calendar. Hope this helps a little. Good luck to you.

Thank you all for your responses....me and DH went to the RE which we thought was our IVF consultation....but basically we (again) just sat with a different Dr. and discussed my case.....We told the Dr. that we were thinking of doing the IVF in October..(after our cruise)...he then said since we are thinking about October...there is no need right this early to have IVF consultation (thats not what the nurses said) anywho 2 out of 3 Dr.s (same practice) suggested that since we are waiting till October for the IVF...that I should get a Laproscopy (had one in 05)to remove the endo that came back and to clear my tube, try IUI for 2 months and see what happens...then move on to IVF....which makes sense...the first Dr. said go right to IVF...cause of his counts and my FSH high (16).....So I think Im going to do the Laproscopy which in turn will up my % a little to get pregnant .....Thanks for listening:angel:
