Hi everyone,
Like mentioned in my previous posts I have been on Lupron (day 21 of cycle) for almost three weeks now and began my Gonal F injections (day 4 of cycle) last Saturday ... I was taking 75IU. I did a blood test yesterday and my fertility specialist called to say that unfortunately my levels were not increasing as he wanted them too so he increased the Gonal F to 150 IU. He asked that I not go in today (day 8 of cycle) for an ultrasound ... I am to do blood work on Friday and see him hopefully on Saturday.
Should I be concerned or is this normal?

Hi Cris... I have heard or read somewhere that Doctors in Canada prefer to stimulate much slower than the doctors here in the states. I would imagine that is a more conservative approach, so it's safe. I'm on my first IVF cycle and on CD 4 I started gonal-F at 225, supplemented by repronex at 75iu. My RE has adjusted my dose daily based on results of bloodwork (gonal-F as high as 300 and now tonite at 150, like you). I think you have nothing to be concerned about. Do you have an estimated retrieval date???? Good luck to you hun!

Hi Kari,
Thanks for putting me at ease again ... I am actually doing an IUI with this treatment first. I wanted to do IVF and skip the FSH treatment with IUI but my doctor recommended that I do this first so that he can see how I respond to the injections. So far no side affects what so ever which I guess is a good thing. I go in on Saturday if my blood work is where it should be to have an ultrasound done to see whether or not my eggs are matured enough to be released. I am thinking my IUI will be sometime next week. If this does not work (lets keep our fingers cross that it does) then I will be doing IVF next time around. Thanks again and I wish all the BEST! Hopefully, we will have some good news to share soon.
Take Care and I will keep you in my prayers.

Well, the IUI certainly explains the lower doses of stim! I didn't realize that some IUI cycles include lupron! Good luck with the u/s on Saturday and please let us know when your IUI is scheduled! And thanks so much for your prayers!
