The past few months, i've noticed strange red dots on my skin. Mostly they are on my upper left arm, but a few elsewhere. They don't hurt, they don't itch, they're not swollen. They're not UNDER the skin, but they aren't really raised either. The best way to describe would be like someone took a pin, and poked me over and over on my arm, a little blood came out, then scabed. They are tiny little scabs. They are not close together, but spread out.

No other symptoms, such as headache/fever/dizziness...nothing. The only reason they are bothering me, is because of how they look compared to my pale skin. lol Plus, if they are some kind of bites (though it doesnt seem like they would be, since they don't itch or nothing), I would also like to know that and try to get rid of the creeps.

I would really appreciate if ya'll would let me know if you have any idea what's goin on. And no, cant afford a 300 doctor visit.

They sound like Cherry Angiomas which are benign. Something to do with your capillaries surfacing. It happens to a lot of people as they get older. I have several on my chest and stomach. They are harmless.

I can't say that is what they are for sure though. But, one thing that my doc did to make sure was to press on one of mine and see if it "blanched" (got lighter and nearly disappeared for a second or two). Not all of them do that but, that is a typical reaction of Cherry Angiomas when you press on them with a fingertip.

Take care and keep in touch.

I've looked up Cherry Angiomas online and they don't look like that. They are much smaller. Also, the term older doesnt really apply as im only 24.

My mother thinks they are bug bites, even though they don't itch and are not swollen....man im really confused...i wish i was rich instead of beautiful then I could just go to the doc.

I guess I should qualify "Older" as, growing. I was 32 when I started noticing my red dots. I am 34 now. I don't know how long they were on my body before I started noticing them. I don't actually know that there is a start age for cherry angiomas. I only know that I was told that as we grow older, we can have them pop up anywhere.

Anyway, I don't know how much it would cost to go see a derm. If you don't have insurance, it will be more. Otherwise, depending on which insurance you have, it shouldn't be too much. I think my co-pay was $10-$25.

Sorry I couldn't help you!

Take care!

I started getting them at 20 so 24 is old enough.. however that doesn't mean that's absolutely what they are. They can be as small as a pin ***** in size.. sometimes they go away on their own. Chances are if they don't itch, bleed, or change size it's benign.

I have no insurance, so I know it would cost me an arm and a leg...lol Which is why i cant go to the derm.

Well they do not itch bleed or anything, so I guess they are nothing to worry about..I just hate the way they look.
