This morning while I was tickling my son, he laughed really hard and I saw two blue spots in his mouth. They are on the upper gum, spaced evenly apart- there are no new teeth in that area at all..... can someone help tell me what this could be? I'm really scared, and I just lost my insurance.

thanks!

he is 15mos... he only has 8 teeth and he's never been to a dentist at all yet.

Hi..not sure if it is exactally the same but thought I would tell you what has happened my daughter. she was 6 at the time and I noticed a section of her gums had a bruise like mark..blackish blue in colour. There was no tooth below this mark but she had lost her baby tooth. I immediately got a dentist appointment and they reassured me this was normal and sometimes happened just before a new tooth broke through and all would be fine. Sure enough about 1 month later the tooth erupted perfect and the colour disappeared. I assumed it was blood trapped from underneath the gum wehre the toot ha was moving down. Try not to worry, I am sure all will be well.

Yes, I have seen this too...it is the tooth pressing on a little blood vessel as it moves towards the surface. It sorta mashes the little vessel up against the surface for a while. It will go.

What does your doctor say? The others are probably right, but it would help clear your mind and make you feel better to hear this from you doctor.
