I was in the ER yesterday. I was having severe pain from a kidney stone. A CT scan was taken. I was given pain meds and sent home to pass the stone. The pain finally stopped last night. There was blood in my urine. I did not however actually see a stone. This morning and throughout the day I have felt a very mild pain/soreness in my back (same place the severe pain was).
Is it possible that I did not see the stone pass? And would I have soreness after it passed?
Or has it not passed yet?
experienced with kidney stones please help me!!!!
I am only 24 female.. not normal for me to have a stone.. so I have an appt with Urologist next week.
I return to work tomorrow..but I am concerned because I have not actually seen a stone!!! thanks everybody.

From what you've said it seems like it hasn't passed yet. It can take some time to pass. If you're having pain like that you really do need to go to a urologist. I went to the hospital with severe kidney pain and they sent me home with a dx of UTI. I went to the urologist a few days later and CT scan confirmed that I had a stone blocking my urine flow. So don't ignore the pain! See a urologist! Let us know what you do.

i am still urinating etc.... and i have seen blood in the strainer..but no stone looking items!
is it possible for a stone to break up before coming out through urine.. in this way i would not have seen an actual stone?
have you had many of these horrendous things?

Fortunately for me, this is my first and hopefully last, knock on wood! From what I've read on other posts citrus juices can break of the stone a little bit, but I don't know how well it works.
Stones can take days or weeks to pass, so you might have to play the waiting game, but you shouldn't be having kidney pain if the stones are passing through your bladder unless you have more stones in your kidney. Or it could be an infection or hydroneprhosis. That's why I worry.
Do you know how many or how big the stones are?

Oh, good! I'm glad you're going, you will feel better when you have more info. Don't worry, blood in the urine is normal when you have a stone and I'm so glad you don't have to go through the pain of surgery because the stone is small enough to pass. Let me know how the uro appointment goes! :)
