I am on ortho tri-cyclen lo and i have two more normal pills to take before i get to the sugar pills and i already started my period today. Is this normal? I always take them at the same time each day, and by me getting it while im still on the hormone pills does it mean that it is not working properly?

It's fine you are still protected. Sometimes the body just acts up like that. If it keeps happening month after month then you might need a stronger pill. Once in a while is not a problem.

because i got my period early does that mean that it is going to be its normal length plus these days or should it still be an almost normal period?
