Hi everyone! I have been reading about all the things that we are all going through so I know I am in the right place for advice!!! I want to wish everyone the best of wishes in their journeys to conceive!!!

Well, DH and I have been TTC for close to 2 years now. We have done all different kinds of things to pinpoint the problem. What we have come up with is that he has slow sperm and I have a closed cervix. We had done several IUIs with clomid with no luck. My doctor finally said it was time to call the fertility clinic and I got an appointment for Aug. In the mean time we did 1 more IUI, hoping for a miracle. That took place last Thursday 6/21 with an HCG shot on Wednesday 6/20. Well, the fertilty clinic called this week with a cancellation so we were able to go yesterday (Thursday). They know about the IUI and the ultrasound they did showed the follicles still there from ovulation and he said that was a good thing. They did blood work and to make a long story a little bit shorter.......the lab called this morning and said that I had a low postive hcg level. I said, "What does that mean" and she said, "That means you are pregnant." I immediately started to cry and then I said that it was too soon and she said no. My hcg was 11 and she wants me to come in on Monday for more blood work. Then I mentioned the IUI and the hcg shot and then she took away my 30 secs of happiness and said that maybe it was the shot still in my system!!!! I am devastated and numb all at the same time! I don't even know what to think or do. I called my regular nurse and she was all excited and then she remember the shot. She was honest and said it was probably the shot but then she was very happy about the follicles still on the ultrasound, she said that means my numbers are high and that was a good sign. Has anyone had this happen?? I would love any advice from anyone!!! Sorry about the long post!

Well Cookie, there is hope that the IUI worked for you guys and you are pregnant. However, I'm told the hcg from a trigger can remain in your system for up to two weeks and that is why they don't usually do blood tests sooner than two weeks from IUI (or IVF). As I understand it, implantation usually occurs about 8 days after ovulation and it's only after implantation that a pregnancy starts to produce hcg. So even if the hcg reading of 11 was from the trigger shot, there is still a good chance that implantation could have occurred about the same time as that blood test and soon you would get a positive HPT. So I'd recommend waiting a couple more days and then taking a home preg test. If that shows positive, then I'd say that you are def pregnant! Good luck, and I really hope it all works out for you!!!!

hey cookie!! doyou remember ho much hcg you took?? it really could be either, i am a little disappointed that your dr called you with that news and later rememebered you took a trigger shot. (5000 iu or 10iu??) well you said you took the shot 6/20/7 and it takes about 5-10 days to leave the system so it should be all out by today!! either you can wait a few days and have your dr do another blood test, or take an hpt and if positive, take one againt eh next day and see if it got darker!! bc if the hcg is leaving your system your numbers wont go up therfore it wont get darker.. also you ovulat 36 hrs after trigger, so that prob was 6/22/7 makings thurs only 6 dpo.. that is a little early, but dont give up hope yet. good luck!!!

Oh Cookie! I am crossing all my fingers and toes for you! :D This "waiting to see" business is driving me crazy, too!:dizzy: I am in my 2ww, and I am going to wait as long as possible to take a HPT, because I fear dissapointment of false results. Hopefully you have a little one beginning to grow! :)
Good luck! And keep us posted!

Thanks ladies!!! After my initial "IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!!" I came back to reality and said to the lab technician that it was too early and she insisted that it wasn't, at first. I was a little angry too that all the facts weren't there before getting a phone call like that!!!! I will definitely keep you posted and I am trying my hardest not to take a test, yet!!!!! Good luck to all of you!

Hi Cookie sorry u had to go through all that. But I am praying that it is a positive. So keep us posted and wait to test it is a little early. What u could do is take another beta and see if hcg rose then u are pregnant. If it is from the hcg shot ur #'s wont rise so u might want to do another blood test.Good luck and please keep us posted.
