Hey, all. I have been having a bout with the strangest thing since April, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
I took a drug called Librax for IBS and had an allergic reaction to it. I developed vivid dreams, difficulty urinating, frequent urinating, and a rash that itched, oozed, and became worse when I exercised on the center of my chest (the fold between my chest and my stomach). It ran across in a line, like it was dividing the line between my abdomen and chest.
About 3 weeks after stopping the medication the rash was still there. However, it had stopped itching (for that matter, it stopped doing anything - it just sat there). I went to my doctor because I was concerned about the lingering rash and he prescribed Betamethasone Dipropionate cream.
Now, almost 3 months later, the rash is down to a slightly-darker-than-skin-colored line on my chest and it only itches when I apply the cream (I just got another tube after still having it upon finishing the first tube).
Sorry this was so long, but I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. I'm convinced that it's not Lupus because it is not a discoid or malar rash and I have no other Lupus symptoms. Like Dr. House says, "It's never Lupus." I am just concerned because this has been lingering and VERY slowly changing for 3 months (Recap.: It went from red and itchy / oozy to skin-colored and painless). Thanks for reading (sorry about the length), and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!
