Hello,

I have a huge concern. A few weeks ago I woke up and there was black "flakes" on the bottom of my teeth. I thought it was leftover pieces from when I ate corn on the cob the night before so I brushed it off and didn't think anything of it. A few weeks later I found this black stuff on my bottom teeth again but I hadn't eaten in two days so i started worrying. The next day, I notice that there is a black flake INSIDE my gums (right near a tooth on my lower teeth). I could see it through the gums and when I pull my gums down a little from the teeth I can see the black gunk.

Is this normal? Black flakes (or dark flakes/gunk/stuff) coming out of your gums? Have you ever heard of this? I've done an extensive search on the internet and have no idea what it is. Please help!!

You need to get to the dentist now . Could be tartar and you teeth need to be cleaned about every six months . I go every six months to the dentist . You need to take care of your teeth . Keep us posted
