About a year ago, I had a white bump on the edge of my upper eyelid, between some of my eyelashes. It looked like a pimple, but I couldn't pop it. I asked my dermatologist about it, and he told me what it was (I forgot what it's called), and said it would go away on its own after a while. Finally, about a month ago, I noticed that it's smaller than it used to be. But I also noticed that there was a sideways eyelash underneath it. Then about five days ago, that same area got sore, and swelled up a little, and turned red. I thought it was a stye, and since then, it actuaslly feels a lot better, but this morning I was able to squeeze some pus out of it, and I can still see the eyelash underneath the skin... Should I see my eye doctor for this? Are ingrown eyelashes common? Will it work itself out on its own?
Thanks!
Thanks!

It did sound like a stye. I don't know how common ingrown eyelashes are. I would see your doctor again if I were you. If for no other reason than so that he can make sure you aren't in danger of getting an infection and causing your eye to get damaged. He may prescribe some medicine. Especially since it sounds like this bump has been there for quite some time. As a general rule, you should try to take control of anything that involves a potential hazard to your eyes as they are the only set you have and they are very sensitive to infections.
Take care, go see your doctor and keep in touch!

Thanks, Hating Glasses. I went to my eye doctor this afternoon, and he said it was an ingrown eyelash, and he was able to pluck it out, and he gave me a prescription for Bacitracin.
