For the past few weeks, my eyes have been really dry and red. This has never happened to me before. It started at school one day. I was sitting in class and my eyes were burning soooo bad. I couldn't even open them. I went to the bathroom and looked at them. They were all red and watery. I thought it would be gone the next day...I woke up and they felt/looked normal, but when I got to school the same thing happened.
I decided that I should go to the eye docter, and when he was checking my eyes, they were not that dry...definatly not as bad as they were at school. He gave me eye drops...naphcon A (to clear the redness) and refresh liquigel. Those both helped alot! I was using the Naphcon A once a day and the Refresh liquigel 3 times a day. Now, I only use the naphcon A and refresh liquigel once in the morning. That seems to be all I need for the day.
The problem is, usually when I wake up in the morning, my eyes are really clear and they feel completly normal...but now, I wake up and they are REALLY red...they don't feel that dry though. I did wake up one morning and there was all this green crusty stuff around my left eye...maybe I have an infection???
Anyways, do you think this is just a temporary thing? maybe caused by the weather? I live in Alberta and it's really dry here in the winter...and the snow just started melting...or do you think i'm going to have to put up with this for the rest of my life? i'm 17 years old and my eye doctor told me this was not common for my age group. this is driving me nuts and I want my eyes to produce more tears. ANd i want the redness to go away without having to use those eye drops...
