View Full Version : Concerned about a solid lump.

I'm a little concerned about some lumps that I've had in my neck for a while. Don't misunderstand, when I say I lumps I mean small "nodes". The first I noticed was when I was about.. 16? I mentioned it to the doctor I was seeing at the time and he said it was most likely a lymph node. That if it didn't get any bigger, I didn't have anything to worry about. It has in fact stayed the same size and sometimes flattens out. It's about the size of my index fingertip.

The second is more recent. At least, I noticed it about a year ago (this time around 2006). It's considerably smaller, perhaps pea-sized? It's solid and unmoveable. It's also stationed on the left side of my neck, halfway down. Neither has changed in size or shape and neither are painful. I notice that if i turn my head a specific way it's harder to find them.

Should I be worried or are these just knots from stress? I should point out that I haven't noticed any changes in my health. I am substantially overweight and I spend a lot of time on the computer (for work). My Mother blames the computer for these "knots".

Any advice would be welcome. THank you.
