I've suffered from anxiety ever since my daughter was born almost 3 years ago. I've been taking Lexapro for about a year with wonder results. Now, I am pregnant again and can no longer take lexapro. My dr prescribe me Wellburtin XL, but from what I've read, on of the side effects is anxiety. Has anyone dealt with anxiety while pregnant, and what did you do?

With my first pregnancy, I was in the ER countless times for anxiety. I thought I was going to die before the anxiety would ever stop. After I delivered, it eased up and I was confident that it would get easier. I got PG 4 months later and I had mild anxiety, no medication, and tried to learn to relax more. I am now pregnant for the 3rd time (25 weeks) and I am having almost NO anxiety, knock on wood. What helped me was that every time I felt anxious, I reminded myself that it is the hormones and that I will eventually feel better, that usually stopped the anxiety attack in its tracks! Plus, I have the tendency to get low blood sugar and get nervous at the time, so make SURE you eat every couple of hours. It is amazing the difference that makes. Sorry I don't know more about medication... But you will get through this!!!

I had anxiety relate to PPD, both with my son 4 years ago and now with my daughter who is 7 months. I wasn't on meds while i was preg, but I took zoloft after m son was born, and this time zoloft didn't work, so I take prozac. The anxiety has eased up a bit.
