Has anyone else on Lexapro had sexual side effects (decreased libido and anorgasmia), and if so did they go away after awhile? I was on Lex a couple years ago and stopped taking it for those very reasons. I really felt good on it, so I went back on it. I'm going to give it more time. Hopefully these SUCKY side effects will go away with time.

I had all kinds of side effects but they went away after a few weeks on it. I'm so glad I stuck it out! I think that's the worst part...the first few weeks. If it helped before maybe you should give it a try again.

Meg,
I did start back on it a couple weeks ago. What were the side effects you had?

I felt really good on Lex the first time I was on it, my mom and bf even said how much better I was without my having to say anything. I stopped taking because of that side effect. I just started back on it again because I did feel so good on it. I'm feeling better after just 2 weeks. I'm going to give it more time this time to see if the side effect goes away (keep your fingers crossed for me). :)

its just hard cause with this 'illness' we are usually scared of EVERYTHING so to take meds is BIG and a big step...and the side effects can def. scare us away

Once again, since it's seems I haven't made myself clear.
One someone starts a thread...in this case it was 2fast...they start it to get THEIR questions answered.
Please answer their questions ONLY.
If someone comes along and posts an answer that you find helpful for your own concerns DO NO hijack the thread to get YOUR questions answered.
Start your OWN thread to do that.
If you have concerns about the same topic as the thread starter...in this case it's Lexapro...DO NOT post them on THIS thread, start your own thread to ask YOUR questions.
Lastly DO NOT discuss Moderator actions on the board.
If something is deleted, it's deleted for a reason.
If this still is not clear to anyone, please e-mail me at ms_mod@yahoo.com and I'll be more than happy to explain just what thread hijacking is and why it shouldn't be done.
Thank you for your cooperation.

It is nice to know that someone is here that knows what you are going through. I'm sure the side effects will go away, i'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I found Lexapro to be such a lifesaver. It was rough in the beginning. I was nauseaus, sweat alot, always hungry, couldn't sleep. But all of that has gone away. I've been on it for about 4 months now. I did go down to 5mg and then went back up to 10mg which helped a bit with the side effects. I also got anxiety for the first few weeks but that leveled off. I even have noticed that my heart doesn't race anymore like it used to. I was lucky, this was the first anti-depressant that i've tried and it's worked. I have my klonopin just in case.
