Just when I thought I just might be able to sleep -
My stomach churning and nausea had finally subsided and I felt nice and relaxed ready to go to sleep when I get this weird vibrating/internal shaking sensation throughout my body. I looked to see if you could tell I was shaking but you couldn't. I thought I was losing my mind until I searched it on the internet and saw that a lot of people also have this problem at night as well. Guess I can attribute it to my recent anxiety episode? It seems better when I am am moving and worse when I am lying totally still. Does anyone else have this??

hi Kristen. Yes, I had this every day & night that I experienced my anxiety until I found meds that helped me. it was kind of like a course of electricity constantly running through my body & along with other anxiety symptoms, I felt like my insides were shaking. I saw commercials on TV about Restless Leg Syndrome & I thought it might be something like that type of feeling. Only the meds made my symptoms subside.

I have this frequently, though not constantly. I usually get it when I lay down during the day and take a nap. I rarely get it when I lay down to sleep at night, but I have gotten it at that time before. It feels like your whole insides are quivering.

I would get this when i started to drift off to sleep. I held myself so tight during the day that when I finally started to go to sleep it let go. Godbless

I also get the internal shakes. I didn't know if it was from anxiety or perimenopause or some nerve disease( with health anxiety I always think the worst) Anyway i thought it was very strange the first time it happened..It does not happen every night but when it does happen it is usually when i am just starting to wake up and then i can feel my body shaking, usually from the waist up..Has anyone told their doctor about it..

I've just recently had this same sensation. Feels like an earthquake when you're sleeping, then you wake up and it's gone.
Since I'm new to panic disorder treatment (just a few months), I'm wondering if it's the meds I'm taking.
When the 'shakes' were at the worst, I was taking 25mg of Zoloft in the morning and 50mg before I went to bed. Since I was super-sleepy anyway during the day, I decided to take the 50mg in the morning and the 25mg at night. Since then, the shakes have subsided. It could be pure coincidence or I could be just getting used to the meds, I dunno.
But if you're taking an SSRI, my doctor says it doesn't matter when you take it. Could be worth a look. Anyway, good luck y'all. Here's to a shakes-free life.

I know the earthquake feeling. I never have it while sleeping. I generally get it while in a very overcrowded public place (even though I'm not usually anxious when I'm in public). The last time was while shopping at a huge outlet store, with my 3 children. It felt like the entire store was just barely vibrating, like there was too much bass on a radio.
I hate that feeling. I get it and then start to REALLY shake!

Wow, that's terrible Altari. I believe I had that feeling once in my life. I went out to LA to try out for a reality show (believe it or not) and I was up 30+ hours. They make you take these rigorous psychological profile tests and I happened to be in the shrink's office when I felt like the ground was moving. That lasted for a few minutes. I told one of the PAs for the show and he said, 'Keep your mouth shut.'
Anyway, as far as my last post, disregard it. I had the internal shakes last night. Not sure what it is, but it began when I started taking meds. It could be Xanax withdrawal cause I take a few of those a day and they have a short half life. I dunno. Gonna talk to me doc in a few weeks.
Y'all take care.
