View Full Version : Brain MRI Results

Hi Everyone! I hope all is well with everyone. I had my first neuro appt last Tuesday and a brain MRI on Thursday. Today was my second neuro appt. She said my MRI results were normal except for a congenital deformity on my brain (some kind of line), but she said it doesn't affect me in any way. Today she told me that she was looking for MS when she ordered the brain scan. She didn't mention that to me before. She said I have alot of the symptoms, but my brain doesn't show any signs of it. She said she knows all my symptoms are very real, but sometimes it's hard to come up with answers. She told me to try to keep my stress under control and to start walking and eating healthier. Then she wants to see me in 3 months if I'm still having these symptoms. If I get worse before then, she wants me to come in sooner. She also ordered some arthritis bloodwork, but she thinks it'll be negtive. I have no idea why she didn't order a spine MRI or anything. She said the office exam was mostly normal. She didn't mention what wasn't normal, but I know my balance was a little off. I'm dizzy and wobbly with my eyes closed. So, thats all I know for now. I wish I had answers for why I feel like I do, but I guess there's alot of us that feel that way.

Have a great weekend!

I guess I should say congratulations! It sounds like at least you got your foot in the door with an exam...Im not sure I entirely agree with this doctor. THe fact that she didnt order a spine MRI is strange. Many people have MS and show nothing in their brains, but only on their Spine MRIs or in a spinal tap. Several people with that scenario are on here, daily.
You might consider getting another opinion. You have your films, right? IF not, get copies of them! Keep them forever. If forbid you need to be rushed to an ER or need to see another doc, you'll be glad you have copies..try to get copies of the report too..but the films are more important. Most docs these days, read them themselves.
Of course 3 months isnt that long...and if you liked this doctor, then go back in 3 months, insist on more testing, no matter what happens. Get what is known as peice of mind....you have the right to have all the tests done- its your money/ insurance- not the doctors call. Was this a MS specialist, or just a Neuro? You could always find another more qualified doctor if this one is just a regular Neuro....
but again, 3 months isnt that long, and you seem to be feeling okay for now..so I do congratulate you. Sometimes no news is good news!
Hope you have a good weekend, too.
