I just bought Rogaine for women last week from a site that had the lowest price. I bout a 1 month supply for $18. Well I opened up the package and the carton looked well old and like it had been through hell, I thought maybe that it was like that since it was raining out here for a while and the carton was kinda wet. Well anyways I opened up the actual product it comes in like a bottle and it smells like alcohol.

I'm wondering if anyone here has used Rogaine, the one that comes in a purple box, and describe to me what it smells like because now I'm scared that I go screwed over and I'm scared of using the product because it just smells like Rubbing Alcohol....

I use Rogaine all the time and have never noticed any smell. Also there is a Use by Date stamped on every package and they do have quite a long shelf life. I only buy it when it is on sale and then I use the $5. coupon that comes with each new bottle. So depending on whether I get a single bottle or the package that comes with three in it I am paying between $11. to $15. per bottle for a one month supply. Then for every four bottles you use if you save your receipts and the UPC you can send in twice a year and they will send you a free bottle.

Have you ever smelled inside the bottle that the product comes in? The reason I am asking is because I've never used Rogaine before and the package looked old and as if it had been opened. I just wanted to make sure that it was the actual product inside and not rubbing alcohol although it does also smell like hairspray too.

I've had an experience before where I bought a leave in conditioner spray for my hair and when I sprayed it it was too watery. I got curious and when I opened the bottle it smelled just like soda, like Pepsi or something, probably someone used the product and then returned it and then I got stuck with it.:mad:

I just wanted to make sure that it was the actual product and not something that is going to irritate my scalp.
