i learned by just doing it. I'm not good at picking the righ shade like foundation wise. I cant help with that. just go out and try If u dont like it dont get it again. I like all brands. I cant narrow it down to one. Thats my best advice hun. Remember not to wear alot. you want it too look natural. If u want to curl ur eyelashes i had a metal eyelash curler and i heat it alittle with the blow dryer and curl them. Its like a mini curling iron. Make sure ur eye lashes are clean when you do it. I have the lorral mascara the one with the white and black. U put the white on first i hope i know what i'm talking about. lol. You lower eye lashes u need very very little. Just buy it and go play in the bathroom for a bit. lol I Still do. Good luck i hope i help alittle

If you are new to makeup, I would suggest going to a department store to get some tips! Most places will do a free makeover and show you how to apply the products. You don't have to buy everything from the department store, but I'm sure if you buy one product from there, they would appreciate it. I buy a nice foundation or powder since those are tricky to match, but I buy cheaper mascaras since I find plenty of cheap ones that work great!

I use Bare Minerals foundation powder. There are a lot of good different kinds of mineral makeups. They look natural and are easy to apply. You just need a very soft brush (the kabuki brush is best), tap it in a tiny bit of powder, tap the extra off, swirl it in the cap to spread it evenly, and then apply it to your face in a circular motion.

For eye makeup I wouldn't suggest anything too tricky. Eyeliner can be be tricky at first, so if you want to try it, stick with a lighter color and not black (at first). You can build your way up. Mascara is always good to open up your eyes. There are brands that have those spikey looking brushes, which are good to keep away clumps. If you want to try eye shadow, I would also stick to a lighter color at first. Nothing too bright or dark!

Good luck!! If you have an Ulta or Sephora near you, they are great about showing you makeup tips! You can tell them you are a beginner and they will show you a bunch of products and how to use them. Have fun!

Hopefully you have better skin than i do, but if you have good skin you don't really need to put too much on it. Get a tinted moisturizer for your face, that will take care of like two steps right there. It will even your face out, will give you an SPF, and your moisturizer and it's just like putting cream on your face. Get some lip gloss which doesn't require any lip lining or anything like that, very simple. And mascara is my favourite makeup item and that just takes some playing around to get it right.

makeup can be tricky...especially, if you've never messed around with it. as someone else stated, department stores with the makeup counters are great resources, in most cases. however, they will hound you to buy expensive items. i would suggest maybe getting a girlfriend that wears makeup to come hang with you and show you how to put it on and play around with certain shades. get some cheap makeup from covergirl or nyc to start with

but as far as base/foundation, that is in my opinion the most important thing. that is where a salon or department store can help match colors to your skin. as far as technique goes, kevyn aucoin has some great makeup artist books that you can find on ****.

eyeliner....don't rim your entire eye with it, and don't go extreme black---this can make your eyes look smaller.(unless you are going for that smokey look, but that can take practice)

eyebrows can accenuate the entire face, so maybe pop into a reputable salon with a makeup artist or someone who specializes in facials/etc. to get arching or waxing done.

lips...you can never go wrong with a neutral color or tinted gloss to give shine and add some color. victoria's secret has some great ones, as well as max-factor, IMO.

blushes...i would say try powders in neutral (not too pink or coral) first. cream blushes are tricky, so i would avoid those until you get the hang of it.

If all else fails.....look at magazines or websites for women that have the same type of hair coloring, skin coloring as you do, and that may give you a better idea of what colors to look for....unless they are runway or extreme pictures.

good luck, and where do you live in texas? i'm here!
