Has anyone here tried Veet, or any other hair removal cream/lotion? What did you like or dislike? What would you recommend?
I've tried Nair before, and was not a fan. I ended up having to shave areas where the hair was not fully removed. Not to mention the unpleasant burning/tingling sensation it caused during and after use!
Just looking for experiences and oppinions to share...
Thanks!

I don't care for them either! I have a bottle of 3 minute Nair (I'm allergic to it and it makes me itch and I can't stand any slower), but I never use it. Actually if I use the Nair, it still feels a bit stubbly. I tried Veet Bladeless Razor and was very disappointed. I kept it on for the maximum time (10 minutes) and it did not remove a single hair! I have no idea why.. I do want to buy an epilator so I have longer lasting results.

I really think that hair removal creams need the hair to be long for it to be even a little bit effective, and even then in my experience i ended up shaving spots-- like i mentioned in the original post. What a shame! Shaving sucks.. my hair grows back so quickly. i have really dark and thick hair and even a day later its noticable. *sigh* And razor burn.. ugh.
I've never tried waxing.. but i have a feeling that it would be similar to any cream.. that'd you end up with patches of hair! And ouch!
One day I'll be insanely rich and able to afford an electrolosist!
.... it's nice to have dreams... haha. :D

I've tried multiple hair removal products and I have found that different types work on different areas of my body. The only place I use the creams (nair) is for upper lip hair. Mine is barely visible but I'd rather have none than any at all. I get brazillian bikini waxes and even though they hurt, they get rid of everything! The only problem is you tend to get more ingrown hairs from waxing then shaving which is why I don't wax my legs or any other area. I have found that shaving, even though it can be a pain, is the best for your legs. The epilator (or epilady, which is the brand I have) works well to remove leg hair but it hurts like hell because it plucks the hair out at the root like shaving but takes way longer.

How do you think the epilator compares to waxing? I figured they would be similar, but epilating would take longer, so might hurt for longer!

I dont have advise, and I havent a clue on what an epilator is but, does that new veet plastic razor thing work? is it the razor thing or the cream that removes the hair? cuz I have tried that nair stuff and it burned and left little red bumps and ugh! not good, at least for me. and the whole shaving thing I dont know how much its working out for me. I can shave that day and by the end of the day I already have little spikes. and then by day 2 my hair is at its usual lenghth. I dont know why it is, but it grows really fast to a half an inch and then stays there. yes, I have put it to the test and didnt shave for a month. it just didnt grow. wait, thats not the problem. the problem is what stuff works best!?!?! and I was wondering, does anyone else get those little black dots on their legs after shaving? how do you make it go away? what is it?

I'd like to find just one person that Veet worked for. It didn't remove not one hair from my legs so I gave it to my granddaughters - didn't work for them either;) . I think it's one of those things that will keep the company in business until everyone buys it once & then we'll never hear about it again:D

My roommate tried the Veet cream and razor, she said it was a waste of money!
I get the black dots after shaving too... and even tweezing my eyebrows, those black dots pop up. I'm pretty sure its just the hair right beneath the surface of the skin, ready to sprout right back up!! UGH!!!
Curse my Italian heritage!! :jester:
Like usual, there's no easy solution is there!?
I've tried waxing my upper lip.. I couldnt imagine doing an entire leg..twice!! And even with waxing, it doesn't get every, single hair. I guess there isn't one "best" product for everyone, or even for all areas of your body. *shrug*
My shaving experience improved after I finally caved and spent the money on a "real" razor.. no more disposables. I bought a Shick Quatro (I think that's what its called.) And shaving is a lot less painful then it was with even a 4 bladed disposable. The blade stays sharp longer. I don't feel like I'm ripping out every single hair anymore, like I might as well being shaving with glass. So in that respect, shaving hasn't been as bad.. but I still get stubbly by the end of the day... just can't win!

I havent been waxing long, maybe a year or so, same as with epilating. But I found that using both together is much more effective. Its much too painful at first to use the epilator to get all of your hair off, and I cant seem to get all the hair off when I wax. So what I do is wax as much hair off first and then after making sure theres no more wax on my skin I get the rest of the hair with the epilator. Plus the epilator will get much shorter hairs.

The Sally Hansen one is bad. It was impossible to come off and it didn't do anything.
Good luck finding a good product!

I Went To Walmart To Buy The Veet System After Seeing An Ad On Tv. There Was Another Gal Standing Next To Me Also Looking For A New Hair Removal Product. It Is Made By Sally Hansen, But It May Be Different Than Their Other Older Products Mentioned In Some Of The Other Threads Posted Here. It Says "spray-on Shower-off" Hair Remover. It Is In A Pink 6 Oz. Can With A Clear Cap. I Bought Some And Used It On My Bikini Area. They Suggest To Leave It On For At Least 3 Minutes, But No More Than 10 Minutes. Figuring The Hair There Is Coarser, I Set My Timer For 5 Minutes. I Wiped It Of With An Old Wet Washcloth And To My Surprise, The Hair Was Gone! My Skin Felt Very Smooth And I Never Got Those Nasty Red Itchy Bumps I Usually Get When I Shave. I Use The Schiek Intuition Shaver For My Legs And Underarms. It Works Great And I Never Get Cuts With It. The Spray Stuff Is Too Pricey In My Opinion To Waste On My Legs. Hope This Is Helpful For Some Of You Other Gals.

I just used the veet today. It was the aloe 3 min veet. I left it on for 6 min and i used the razor by pressing hard and instead of dragging it upward i ended up pushing it up. I dont know if that make sense. I was holding the razor correctly but turned it around and also went against the grain of the hair. This way the rubber would like snag the hair on the blade. Anyway the point is it worked perfectly for me i just had to adjust it to my own way.
