Does anyone know how to cure black spot underneath the toe nail? Please help. Some pharmacists are telling me that it might due to blood clog, uric asid and high in sugar level! I just do not know what caused them to have black spot! Worried.:confused:

It totally depends on what the black spot looks like. If it covers most of the nail, it is probably due to a hematoma from some sort of trauma, such as dropping something on the toe. If it looks like there is a splinter under the nail, it is simply a splinter hemorraghe which are tiny viods in the nail palte cell production that fill up with blood from the underlying nail bed; it will grow out with th enail plate. If the spot began as a greenish discoloration, then turned brown to black, then it is probably a pseudomonas bacterial infection.

You still did not say exactly what it looked like, so I am assuming it might be a splinter hemmoraghe. No, it will not 'go away', it will only grow forward with the nail plate until it grows off the free edge.

I don't want to scare you, but my mom recently had a black spot under her toenail and she was checked thoroughly for melanoma. See a dermatologist.
