View Full Version : Bad complexion, puffiness?

I would like your opinion on how I can make the complexion of my face better. By "better" I mean, evening out skin tones, reducing puffiness under the eyes.

Redness first. I have red cheeks but under my eyes the skin is white, so it has the "reverse racoon" look, or as if I wear sunglasses out and have a small sun rash under where the hypothetical sunglasses would be. I've had people ask me if I've "been wearing sunglasses when my face got burned" before. I'd like to make the skin tone of my face to be uniform. . . kind of like most people when I look at them. :(

The puffiness under the eyes. This puffiness causes there to be an overly noticeable line the goes from the inside corners of my eyes down to my upper cheeks, same direction as the line that goes from the corners of my nose down. Most people have that line, but as I look around, few have that line from the eyes, . . . at least as noticable as mine are. It is caused by puffiness and I've tried so many things.

What would you suggest?

I would look into products by Aveeno. I know they have a line for skin discolourations (you can check right on the site). I know a friend of mine uses it and loves it.

The redness sounds like you might have Roscea. The puffiness can be from lack of water in your diet. Not enough water keeps the toxins in your body and makes you swell. So use Vit K for the puffiness and drink water. As for the Roscea there are many things that trigger it... sun is one of the main things. Your diet can play a part in causing it to flare up too.

I have been dealig with those lines you mentioned under the eyes for several months and have tried several products. I mentioned them to my PCP and she said they were just allergic shiners and would go away. They haven't. There are no dark circles just huge puffiness which seems to emphasize those lines more. I don't know whether to go to my allergist, dermatologist or plastic surgeon. They really bother me and people tell me how tired I lookthough I oversleep.Have you found anything yet?

By mouth. I saw the K serum today at the pharmacy but I wanted to search the different brands before I bought any.

If it were me I'd go with a derm. I go to a derm that is a specialist in cancer.

I had a freckle that was odd, I didn't want to take the chance of my GP referring me to a derm who might of sent me to a skin cancer specialist. I would of had to pay the office fee for each and didn't really want to do that.
So I skipped all and went right to the cancer derm. It was only $68 to get that freckle and 2 more taken off.
